Kabīr (also Kabīra) (Hindi: कबीर, Punjabi: ਕਬੀਰ, Urdu: کبير) (1440–1518) was a mystic poet and saint of India, whose writings have greatly influenced the Bhakti movement. The name Kabir comes from Arabic al-Kabīr which means 'The Great' - the 37th name of God in Islam.
Apart from having an important influence on Sikhism, Kabir's legacy is today carried forward by the Kabir Panth ("Path of Kabir"), a religious community that recognizes him as its founder and is one of the Sant Mat sects. Its members, known as Kabir panthis, are estimated to be around 9,600,000. They are spread over north and central India, as well as dispersed with the Indian diaspora across the world, up from 843,171 in the 1901 census. His writings include Bijak, Sakhi Granth, Kabir Granthawali and Anurag Sagar.
Not much is known of Kabir's birth parents, but it is known that he was brought up in a family of Muslim weavers. He was found by a Muslim weaver named Niru and his wife, Nima, in Lehartara, situated in Varanasi. They adopted the boy and taught him the weaver's trade.

Nasreen Munni Kabir is an India-born television producer based in the UK. She is best known for producing an annual season of Indian films for the British terrestrial television channel Channel 4.
Her work includes the 46-part series Movie Mahal, In Search of Guru Dutt, Follow that Star (a profile of Amitabh Bachchan) and Channel 4 series such as How To Make It Big In Bollywood. She won the 1999 Women of Achievement Award in Arts & Culture and became a governor of the British Film Institute in 2000.
In 2005, she produced a two-part documentary on Shahrukh Khan, "The Inner and Outer World of Shah Rukh Khan". It featured the superstar's 2004 Temptations concert tour, the film contrasts Khan's "inner world" of family and daily life, with the "outer world" of his work. She continues to produce an annual season of Indian films for Channel 4 each year. She has also recently published a well received coffee table book called In Search of Lata Mangeshkar, based on a series of interviews she did with the legendary playback singer.

He says that making a film with the backdrop of India-Pakistan relations can be quite challenging and he agrees that his religious identity does come in a way when people judge his work. He explains what makes him take up political and realistic issues in his films. He explains how his experiences on the field and in various war-torn and conflict-affected areas have taught him some important lessons of life. He makes it clear that there was no conscious effort on their part to portray Salman Khan differently. He also assures that people will be blown away by Salman's performance in the film. He makes it clear that Kareena Kapoor has a very strong role in the film. He reacts to reports that he'll be teaming up with Salman for one more film. He reveals that Salim Khan loved the film and Salman Khan's performance. He answers whether 'Aaj Ki Party' song would be incorporated during the end credits of the film. He expresses surprise that films don't release in Kashmir and makes it clear that he and his unit faced absolutely no problem while shooting in the state. Viewers might remember that acclaimed filmmaker Steven Spielberg’s ‘Munich’ starring Eric Bana and Daniel Craig had a similar plot in which Bana and Craig played Mossad agents, who are sent on a mission to kill terrorists responsible for the 1972 Munich Olympics massacre.
The film ‘Munich’ was itself based on a non-fiction book titled ‘Vengeance: The True Story Of An Israeli Counter-Terrorist Team’.
