Deconstruction (band)

Deconstruction was a band formed by former Jane's Addiction members, guitarist Dave Navarro and bassist Eric Avery. Originally their former Jane's Addiction bandmate drummer Stephen Perkins was slated to be Deconstruction's drummer but instead joined Jane's Addiction frontman Perry Farrell's new band Porno for Pyros. Drummer Michael Murphey was instead recruited for percussion duties.

The band, all Los Angeles residents, recorded material in a studio somewhere along the Big Sur coastline in California and released a self-titled LP in 1994 to little public appeal and varied critical acclaim. This came in marked contrast to Porno for Pyros, who were consistent with their lukewarm reviews, despite their relative popularity.

Deconstruction released only one self-titled album and one promotional single, "L.A. Song", and did not tour due to Eric Avery reportedly being still weary from extensive touring in Jane's Addiction.

A British band of the same name sought to legally stop Eric Avery and company from using the name Deconstruction, but dropped threats of legal action when they were assured the Californian trio's album would be a one-off project.

Automatic (Pointer Sisters song)

"Automatic" is a song by the Pointer Sisters, released on the Planet label in January 1984 as the second single from their multi-platinum landmark album Break Out. "Automatic" reached the Top 5 of Billboard's pop chart and became one of the Pointers' signature tunes. Eventually, three other singles from Break Out reached the Top 10 consecutively.

According to Ruth Pointer of the Pointer Sisters, "Automatic" was the final song chosen for Breakout: "We were taking a break from recording in the office of Jim Tract, who was Richard Perry's right-hand man, and Jim mentioned that he had a stash of tapes we might want to listen to [while on] a breather...We all sat up straight when we first heard ['Automatic'] and told Richard we wanted to include it on the album. 'Okay', he said 'But who would sing the low part?' 'Are you kidding me?' I said, 'I'll do the low part!'"

Although Break Out largely comprised dance tracks, its lead single was the ballad "I Need You" chosen by producer Richard Perry in hopes of reinforcing the Pointer Sisters presence at R&B radio: the dance track "Jump (for My Love)" was intended as the second single but the heavy airplay afforded "Automatic" as an album cut by both dance clubs and radio stations caused the substitution of "Automatic" for "Jump..." as the second single release from Break Out, although "Jump..." would become the most successful US single off Break Out when it became the album's third single. The first Top 40 hit to feature Ruth Pointer's distinctive contralto on lead, "Automatic" reached #5 on the Hot 100 in Billboard in April 1984, also charting on the magazine's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and Hot Dance Club Play rankings, its #2 R&B chart peak making "Automatic" the highest charting R&B hit by the Pointer Sisters as a trio (in their original four-woman format the Pointer Sisters did score an R&B #1 hit with "How Long (Betcha' Got a Chick on the Side)").

Automatic (Jack Bruce album)

Automatic is the seventh studio album by Scottish musician Jack Bruce. The album was originally released only in Germany in January 1983 by Esoteric as the follow-up to his album I've Always Wanted to Do This (1980).

"Automatic" is a 2010 single by Canadian Danny Fernandes featuring fellow Canadian Belly from Fernandes's second studio album AutomaticLUV.

"Automatic", released on CP Records, is the first single from his new album after five consecutive singles from his debut album Intro.

Music video

In the video (directed by Mike Portoghese), Danny Fernandes plays a robot version of himself. Belly plays a cyborg commanding an army of faceless troops.MuchMusic observed influence from Janet Jackson's "Feedback" video in its cyborg theme.

Chart performance

The song debuted at number 82 on the week of September 25, 2010. A month later, it peaked at number 41 on the week of November 6, 2010 and later spent an additional thirteen weeks on the chart.

Sonic the Hedgehog (ソニック・ザ・ヘッジホッグ, Sonikku za Hejjihoggu) is a video game franchise created and owned by Sega. The franchise centers on a series of speed-based platform games, but several are spin-offs in different genres. The protagonist of the series is an anthropomorphic blue hedgehog named Sonic, whose peaceful life is often interrupted by the series's main antagonist, Doctor Eggman. Typically, Sonic—usually along with some of his friends, such as Tails, Amy, and Knuckles—must stop Eggman and foil any plans of world domination. The first game in the series, published in 1991, was conceived by Sega's Sonic Team division after Sega requested a mascot character; the title was a success and spawned sequels, and transformed Sega into a leading video game company during the 16-bit era in the early to mid-1990s.

Sonic the Hedgehog (2006 video game)

Sonic the Hedgehog (ソニック・ザ・ヘッジホッグ, Sonikku za Hejjihoggu) is a 2006 platform video game developed by Sonic Team and published by Sega for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The game primarily allows the player to use Sonic, Shadow and Silver across several stages. Other secondary characters also become playable across the game. The plot follows Sonic's quest to protect Princess Elise after she is kidnapped by his rival Dr. Eggman and is aided by new and returning allies.

The game shares its name with two earlier Sonic games, a manga, a television series, a comic book series, and their eponymous main character. To disambiguate, the game has been referred to as Sonic '06. It was produced in commemoration of the 15th anniversary of the Sonic the Hedgehog series. The game faced multiple issues during development, which resulted in rushing the product despite existing bugs. Both versions were heavily criticized for long loading times, poor camera system, gameplay glitches, complicated plot and sloppy character control.

Sonic (train)

Sonic (ソニック, sonikku) is the name used by Kyushu Railway Company (JR Kyūshū) for the limited express train service operating between Hakata and Ōita via Kokura and Beppu along the Kagoshima Main Line and Nippō Main Line in Kyūshū, Japan. It runs every 30 minutes at a speed of 130 km/h - with a journey time of approximately 2 hours.

Services are operated by a fleet of eight 7-car 883 series electric multiple unit (EMU) trains and four 6-car 885 series White Sonic EMUs.
