The Dublin County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) (Irish: Cumann Luthchleas Gael Coiste Contae Átha Cliath) or Dublin GAA is one of the 32 county boards of the GAA in Ireland, and is responsible for Gaelic games in the Dublin Region and the Dublin inter-county teams.
The Dublin Gaelic football team is the most supported GAA team in terms of attendance. The team and its fans are known as "The Dubs". The fans have a special affiliation with the Hill 16 end of Croke Park.
Dublin GAA has jurisdiction over the area that is associated with the traditional county of County Dublin. There are 9 officers on the Board including the Cathaoirleach (Chairperson), Andy Kettle, currently serving his second term of office. For details on the Board's clubs, see Gaelic Athletic Association clubs in County Dublin and List of Gaelic games clubs in Ireland.
The Board is subject to the Leinster GAA Provincial Council.
The teams of Dublin GAA play home games at Parnell Park, Donnycarney on the northside of the city, although Croke Park is used for major matches at the request of the GAA. Parnell Park also hosts all the major games in the Dublin club Football and Hurling championships. The current football manager is Jim Gavin of Round Towers GAA (Clondalkin). The current hurling team manager is Ger Cunningham. Dublin claimed five Leinster Senior Football Championships in a row following a one-point victory over Laois in 2005, a nine-point victory over Offaly in 2006, a six-point victory over Laois in 2007, a 23-point victory over Wexford in 2008 and a 3-point victory over Kildare in 2009. Meanwhile, the hurlers retained their status in the Liam McCarthy Cup.
Dublin (/ˈdʌblᵻn/, Irish: Baile Átha Cliath [blʲaːˈklʲiəh]) is the capital and largest city of Ireland. Dublin is in the province of Leinster on Ireland's east coast, at the mouth of the River Liffey. The city has an urban area population of 1,273,069. The population of the Greater Dublin Area, as of 2011, was 1,801,040 persons.
Founded as a Viking settlement, the Kingdom of Dublin became Ireland's principal city following the Norman invasion. The city expanded rapidly from the 17th century and was briefly the second largest city in the British Empire before the Acts of Union in 1800. Following the partition of Ireland in 1922, Dublin became the capital of the Irish Free State, later renamed Ireland.
Dublin is administered by a City Council. The city is listed by the Globalization and World Cities Research Network (GaWC) as a global city, with a ranking of "Alpha-", placing it among the top thirty cities in the world. It is a historical and contemporary centre for education, the arts, administration, economy and industry.
The All-Ireland Senior Football Championship, the premier competition in Gaelic football, is an annual series of games played in Ireland during the summer and early autumn, and organised by the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA). Contested by the top inter-county football teams in Ireland, the tournament has taken place every year since 1887—except in 1888, when the competition was not played due to a tour of the United States by would-be competitors.
The competition culminates on the third or fourth Sunday in September with the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship Final. The winning team receives the Sam Maguire Cup. The final has been played at Croke Park in Dublin since 1913, with the exception of the 1947 final which was played at the Polo Grounds in New York. Finals held before the GAA's acquirement of Croke Park were played at venues around Dublin and the counties of Cork, Kildare and Tipperary. Kerry are the most successful football team in the history of the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship. As of 2014, Kerry have won the competition on 37 occasions, including two four-in-a-rows (1929 - 1932, 1978 - 1981) and two three-in-a-rows (1939 - 1941, 1984 - 1986).
GAA may refer to the following:
All-Ireland is an attributive which emphasises the island of Ireland. It contrasts with expressions such as the Republic or Northern Ireland which apply only to the specific jurisdictions that exist on the island. Many but far from all sports are organised on an all-Ireland basis.
"All-Ireland" is often used as an abbreviation of All-Ireland Championship, held by sports organised on All-Ireland basis. In particular:
Many sports are organised on an all-Ireland basis, for example American football, basketball, boxing, cricket, curling, Gaelic games, hockey, golf, rugby league and rugby union, in which case the international team is usually referred to simply as "Ireland". Others are organised primarily on an all-Ireland basis, but with both "Ireland" and "Great Britain" international teams, in which case players from Northern Ireland may opt for either - these include tennis, swimming, athletics and any events at the Olympics. Some others have separate Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland organisations and teams, including notably football and snooker.

There are two dialects in Dublin, The Northside Tongue and The Southside Slang but which one impresses the King Of The Hill, Bernard Brogan, the most? Will it be the Northsiders’ “Gerrup Outta That” or their fellow Southsider’s who were “Totes Morto”. Dublin GAA stars Michael Darragh Macauley and Johnny Cooper have entered the classroom to test their Dublinese language skills. As the competition lies with one a piece, who will be crowned victorious? #KingOfTheHill

Ahead of the 2017 Leinster Final between Dublin and Kildare we caught up with some of Dublin's to ask them what makes match day so special for them, what for them was the greatest ever Dublin game and their favourite moment from previous Dublin and Kildare meetings.
16.53 -- Kerry 1-10 Dublin 0-09 If I may use a technical term, Dublin seem to have lost the head. Colm Cooper has converted the latest of a series of frees to put the breadth of a goal between the sides now. As I write, the Crokes man adds another from play to bring his tally to a 1-3. 16.55 -- GOAL! Unbelievable. Croke Park goes nuts thanks to a superb Kevin McMenamin goal. Declan O'Sullivan lost the ball out the field for thosee still interested in technical considerations. Kevin Nolan levels it up with his first ever senior point. 16.57 -- I had money on the draw in the hurling. Maybe this is the one I should have backed. 16.58 -- Dublin 1-11 Kerry 1-10 Bernard Brogan kicks his sixth point. 17.00 -- Dublin 1-11 Kerry 1-11 A minute left and Kerry are on the attack, a point down. Don...
