Plot: Just Living is an exposé of the past and the power it can have on one's decisions. Based on a true glimpse into Patrick Lane's life, the truth forces one to embrace the past to understand the present. After many long years in a battle with alcoholism and drugs, Patrick finally finds himself clean and hours away from exiting rehab. While in his last group session, Patrick is confronted with what will keep him clean. So he drudges up a powerful memory that inspired a poem which would define him as one of Canada's most prolific writers. Patrick's story flashes back from rehab to him as a young man driving an amputated co-worker through logging roads to the nearest hospital.
