The Mursi (or Mun as they refer to themselves)[1][2] are a Nilotic pastoralist ethnic group in Ethiopia. They principally reside in theDebub Omo Zone of the Southern Nations, Nationalities, and People's Region, close to the border with South Sudan. According to the 2007 national census, there are 7,500 Mursi, 448 of whom live in urban areas; of the total number, 92.25% live in the Southern Nations, Nationalities, and People's Region (SNNPR).[3]
Surrounded by mountains between the Omo River and its tributary the Mago, the home of the Mursi is one of the most isolated regions of the country. Their neighbors include the Aari, the Banna, the Bodi, the Karo, the Kwegu, the Nyangatom and the Suri. They are grouped together with the Me'en and Suri by the Ethiopian government under the name Surma.[4]
The Mursi are famous for their stick-fighting ceremony and Mursi women are known all over the world for wearing clay plates in their lower lips. Their economy concentrated on bartering and sharing possessions. This changed when tourists arrived, offering money in exchange for photographs. The nomadic Mursi clan lives in the lower area of Africa’s Great Rift Valley. Extreme drought has made it difficult to feed themselves by means of traditional cultivation and herding. The establishment of national parks has restricted their access and threatened their natural resources

(video with english subtitles) Nikumalu Yawalapiti is concerned that the survival of her people is at stake, because cattle farms and soy plantations deforest up to the riverbed- and don't leave the required standing trees, that would reduce the amount of poisonous fertilizers to wash into the headwaters of the Xingu. She talks about the dead fish, that her people have seen as a result. She gives her homage to Water explaining what it means to her and her people. The large scale farmers and ranchers are not only poisoning the headwaters of the Xingu, they are also blocking the river with small dams to create energy for their soy plantations and cattle farms, while also selling the energy not used back to the energy companies, This has caused that the Xingu's waterlive force is already weakened at the place it starts to grow in the unique "Cerrado", where low crooked trees grow much less dense than in the rainforest, The Yawalapiti are desperate, because they suffer already from the changed river when it passes the Park Xingu,Indigenous Territory in which several traditional Indigenous nations are living. The river is much lower than it used to be, and often dirty, away from the poison. That causes problems as fish has declined, but also with some Yawalapiti's fishing practices, that require to see the fish that is targeted.

Infanticide (the practice of intentionally killing a child) still exists today in some indigenous tribes. This is a polemic matter, which is contested and by some treated as an untruth or a rare occurrence. On the other hand there are researches who defend that infanticide is a custom that is part of the tribal culture and needs to be maintained.

July 5th, 2012 by EARTH PEOPLES
This Audio-Visual Report was filmed by Rebecca Sommer in June 2012, at the Free Land Camp (Alternative space for Indigenous Peoples of Brazil) in the Peoples' Summit during the UN Conference on Sustainable Development - Rio +20.
- Protest march and occupation of the headquarters of BNDES against the construction of Belo Monte Hydroelectric dam.
- Protest march in front of the Rio Centro (Place of the UN Conference in Rio +20) with the goal to deliver their Indigenous Free Land Camp Declaration.
- the struggle of the Brazilian Indigenous Peoples for the UN and the Brazilian Government to hear their grievances and demands, since most of them were almost excluded from the official discussion of the Rio+20 UN Conference. Several traditional leaders had no credentials to enter and participate in discussions in the UN event.
The traditional leaders were also disappointed by the indifference of the UN High Commissioner on Human Rights that had not responded to their request for a meeting with her during the Conference.

Raoni Metuktire announced at the UN meeting 30 September 2011, that this would be his last time to go to the United Nations, and that Bemoro Metuktire would take his role as the future leader of the Kayapo, Xingu River, Mato Grosso. In this video clip Bemoro explains some of the concerns and topics that have been discussed at the United Nations in Geneva on the 30 september 2011. The Kayapo are worried because last month they read in the internet that their territory might be reduced if Congress would vote for such proposal. They face illegal logging and settlers. Mining, The Xingu river is poisoned by fertilizers washing into the water from Soja plantations and agrobusiness in general, especially at the watershed area in Alto Xingu, where the Yawalapiti, Kalapalo and many others live. (Please watch also Rebecca Sommer's videos in which Aritana, Pirakuma, and other Yawalapiti explain the situation in more detail : http://www.youtube.com/user/SommerFilms#g/c/169E4C6A62CF95F6). Bemoro complaints that the governmental officials from his state are no longer reachable for his people. The new governor doesn't respond to the many letters that Kayapo have written to him. There is no dialogue between the indigfenous Kayapo and the Brazilian government, he says. That's one of the reasons why the Kayapo seek help and intervention from the international community, and went ti speak with relevant UN officials.

What was the just cause in supporting Suharto, when he killed a couple hundred thousand landless peasants in Indonesia, went on to become one of the biggest torturers in the world and then destroyed, eh, slaughtered one-third of the population in East Timor, what was the just cause?
What was the just cause?
What was the just cause when we invaded South Vietnam ending up killing millions of people, leaving the country devastated.
They're still dying from chemical warfare.
What was the just cause?
What was the just cause?
What was the just cause when we fought a war, to a large extent against the Catholic Church in Central America in the 1980s, killing hundreds of thousands of people, every imaginable kind of torture and devastation, what was the just cause?
Can I continue.
Yeah, we where the just cause for people like Kaplan was yes, we did it, therefore it's a just cause.
You can read that in the Nazi archives too.
Jah Allah...

A hypocrite is a person who focuses on the other fellow's crimes and refuses to look at his own. That's the definition of hypocrite by George Bush's favorite philosopher. When I repeat that I'm not taking a radical position. I'm taking a position that is just elementary morality.
Here's an experiment.
Try to find a phrase in the massive commentary on September 11th, which is not hypocritical in the sense of George Bush's favorite philosopher.
Puedes...
Jah Allah...
We are gonna do our best to shake awake the dancing warrior in you, and motivate you all to go fight for the New Revolution, not another bloodshed
What honest people are saying seems to be incomprehensible:
That we should keep to the elementary moral level of the gospels.
We should pay attention to our own crimes and stop committing them. This would be true even if we were killing one person, Okay?
And it's even more true when we're killing millions of people.

http://www.raoni.com - Facebook : http://www.facebook.com/raoni.com.fr

Hard to believe but America is still asking, “Why don’t Black women breastfeed?”
Black children are 2.4 times more likely to die before their first birthday and according to the CDC this could be lowered by as much as 50% with the increase of breastfeeding.
http://www.gofundme.com/chocolatemilk
We are raising funds to complete, market and release a feature-length documentary film, Breastfeeding a Nation: The History of My Chocolate Milk, exploring the disparaging breastfeeding rates within the Black communities, and diving into how our history plays a role in the present statics. The film will put the faces of real Mothers who breastfeed real children in the forefront. With the help of community activists, psychologists, nurses and political figures, Afrykayn Moon, the director, will attempt to make history of breastfeeding in the Black community visible, as well as articulate a few of the barriers that exist today.
http://www.gofundme.com/chocolatemilk
Afrykayn Moon is a mother of two with one on the way, as well as a breastfeeding activist, peer advocate and creator of Breastfeeding Mothers Unite, a grassroots organization geared towards bringing together breastfeeding mothers and their supporters.
We invite you to become part of Moon’s vision. This is your chance to make a tremendous difference in the lives of Black women locally and internationally. We will finally provide an answer to “Why don’t Black Women breastfeed?” Be a part of the conversation.
http://www.gofundme.com/chocolatemilk
The money raised through GoFundMe will be used for travel expenses for the film crew to conduct interviews in multiple cities. It will also be used in production to create special effects & titles, as well as for the process of combining all of these elements: rendering, compositing, sound design and editing, as well as the necessary hardware and software needed to create a high resolution product. Historical re-enactment scenes for the film will also use a portion of the funds. Finally, a lot of the money will be used for media promotions for the theatrical release of the film.

Hard to believe but America is still asking, “Why don’t Black women breastfeed?”
Black children are 2.4 times more likely to die before their first birthday and according to the CDC this could be lowered by as much as 50% with the increase of breastfeeding.

BREAKING THE SILENCE (English subtitles)
Infanticide (the practice of intentionally killing a child) still exists today in some indigenous tribes. This is a polemic matter, which is contested and by some treated as an untruth or a rare occurrence. On the other hand there are researches who defend that infanticide is a custom that is part of the tribal culture and needs to be maintained.
It is not the goal of this documentary to make a moral judgment about the practices of tribal Indian cultures. BREAKING THE SILENCE proposes to listen to, and register the manifestations of Indians who do not want to practice infanticide but want to be heard and assisted.
At the instance that an Indian manifests his wishes (especially when they are in accordance to the Human Right Declaration), the society has the obligation to interact with him and bring solutions and alternatives for the practice of infanticide.
Directed by the indigenous journalist Sandra Terena, this documentary is the result of more than two years of interviews in various regions of Brazil. Because the director herself is a tribal Indian, the choice was made to only register the reports of Indians who have personally experience the suffering caused by infanticide.
