But it also seems to be a rush to limit liability by BP and the oil industry. The effects on the Gulf, the fishing industry, Louisiana culture, and health issues will be lasting, in Alaska the health issues for the cleanup crews and others were lasting. In regards to the toxic effects of crude oil and benzene like cancer and leukemia, there also seemed to be a lot of confusion between crude oil and the dispersant corexit, possibly intentionally.
