Gliding in ascendant

"Gliding, which is a popular sport in Germany, France, and England, is becoming equally popular in NSW. The NSW Gliding Club has a membership of over 200. The glider is made of spruce wood, and the same light cloth as is used in aeroplanes. The machines gain their impetus from a strong rubber rope, from which they are catapulted, and they are controlled in much the same way as an aeroplane."

Killing at fruit shop

La Spina and Malaponte had been living together at a Newtown fruit and vegetable shop. Carmela d'Asquino, cross-examined, stated that La Spina had a very bad temper, and [a] witness thought he was mad.
