Bunta Sugawara
Bunta Sugawara (菅原 文太, Sugawara Bunta, (1933-08-16)August 16, 1933 – November 28, 2014) was a Japanese actor who appeared in almost 200 feature films. He is the father of one son, actor Kaoru Sugawara, and two daughters.
Life and career
Bunta Sugawara was born in Sendai in 1933. His parents divorced when he was four, and he moved to Tokyo to live with his father and stepmother. As part of a wartime policy to evacuate children from major cities, he was moved back to Sendai during fourth grade. As an adult he entered Waseda University's law program, but was dropped in his second year for failing to pay and began work as a model in 1956.
His first acting role was in the 1956 Toho film Aishu no Machi ni Kiri ga Furu. Sugawara appeared in Teruo Ishii's 1958 White Line after being scouted by the Shintoho studio. At Shintoho he gained starring roles despite being a newcomer. However, when Shintoho filed for bankruptcy in 1961, Sugawara moved to the Shochiku studio where he was cast in Masahiro Shinoda's Shamisen and Motorcycle, but was fired from the role for coming to set late after a night drinking. He gave a notable performance in Keisuke Kinoshita's Legend of a Duel to the Death (1963), but it did not fare well at the box office. Disenchanted with the low pay, and what he felt were unsuitable roles, he left and went to Toei in 1967 after being recommended by Noboru Ando.

Miyazaki wrote the script after he decided the film would be based on his friend, associate producer Seiji Okuda's ten-year-old daughter, who came to visit his house each summer. At the time, Miyazaki was developing two personal projects, but they were rejected. With a budget of US$19 million, production of Spirited Away began in 2000. During production, Miyazaki realized the film would be over three hours long and decided to cut out several parts of the story. Pixar director John Lasseter, a fan of Miyazaki, was approached by Walt Disney Pictures to supervise an English-language translation for the film's North American release. Lasseter hired Kirk Wise as director and Donald W. Ernst as producer of the adaptation. Screenwriters Cindy Davis Hewitt and Donald H. Hewitt wrote the English-language dialogue, which they wrote to match the characters' original Japanese-language lip movements.

今回スティーブは2014年10月に栃木県の宇都宮市で行われたデコトラ・アートトラックが集まる「第5回零進会主催チャリティー撮影会～義を見てせざるは勇無きなり～」というイベントを撮影取材してきました。今回はそのパート２です。 デコトラはデコレーショントラックの略であり、コンテナ部のペイント塗装やマーカーランプやアンドンといった電飾装備、ステンレス製やクロムメッキを施されたエアロ部品などを用いて外装を飾ったトラックを指す用語である。別名アートトラックとも呼ばれる。 Part 2: Owner interviews, unique features and looks inside some of these awesome trucks too!! "DecoTruck" means "Decoration Truck" or "Art Truck" to the Japanese; where truck customization is also a huge business! The Japanese deck their trucks out with radical designs, custom chrome work, missiles, rockets, air brushing, hand painting, chandeliers, custom interiors, horns and even going so far as to "crack" the exhaust manifold in order to produce one off engine sounds for their unique truck! Part 2: Owner interviews, unique features and looks inside some of these awesome trucks too!!
"DecoTruck" means "Decoration Truck" or "Art Truck" to the Japanese; where truck customization is also a huge business! The Japanese deck their trucks out with radical designs, custom chrome work, missiles, rockets, air brushing, hand painting, chandeliers, custom interiors, horns and even going so far as to "crack" the exhaust manifold in order to produce one off engine sounds for their unique truck! Most of these trucks are real working trucks; not just for show!
Steve stopped by the ReishinKai truck event in Utsunomiya, Tochigi in October 2014 for this 3 part series about a part of Japan seldom seen. Just like truckers everywhere, these guys take a lot of pride in their trucks and their hometowns!
