Matthew Heimbach insists he's not a racist. This comes as a surprise to his fellow students at Towson University, in the suburbs of Baltimore, where Matthew has formed a group called the White Student Union that advocates for "persons of European heritage"—what most of us call "white people." It also comes as a surprise to the African American students who feel targeted by the night patrols the senior history major began conducting in March. The patrols target supposed "black predators," Matthew wrote on the WSU's website, citing (among others) a case in which an African American man pulled out a knife and his penis, and wagged both at a co-ed couple who were copulating in a parking garage. "White Southern men," he wrote, "have long been called to defend their communities when law enforcement and the State seem unwilling to protect our people."
We recently went to Towson to meet Matthew and his cronies, as well as the students who want him off campus... or at least muzzled. White Student Union is a documentary about race, class, and self-righteous college students yelling at each other.

Berkeley, California (KPIX) — A Facebook page calling itself the “UC Berkeley White Student Union” has been taken down by the social network.
Students first spotted the page Friday. The site claimed the goal was to “unapologetically provide a safe space for white students to air their true feelings…” about the “challenges European-American students on college campuses face.”

Kanhaiya Kumar, the president of the JNU students' union, was taken for questioning and then arrested this afternoon. He has been charged with sedition and conspiracy.
The arrest came hours after Home Minister Rajnath Singh warned of "stringent action" against the organisers of the event. "Anyone who raises anti-India slogans or tries to put a question mark on nation's unity and integrity will not be spared," the home minister said, adding that he had instructed the police to take strongest possible action.
The police searched the JNU campus in South Delhi for more students suspected to be involved in the event.
The police swooped down on the prestigious institution as protests raged on campus and near India Gate in the heart of Delhi over the event organized on Tuesday to mark the death anniversary of Afzal Guru.
Anti-India slogans were allegedly raised during the event, titled "The country without a post office", in which students organized an exhibition and a protest march.
The university claims it cancelled permission for the event, which was allegedly pitched as a cultural function. Vice-Chancellor Jagdeesh Kumar has called it an act of indiscipline.
The BJP's student wing Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) held protests and demanded action against the university and the students behind the Afzal Guru event.
Education Minister Smriti Irani also condemned the incident and said: "The nation can never tolerate any insult to mother India."
The student's arrest has drawn sharp reactions from opposition parties. Left leader Sitaram Yechury tweeted: What is happening in JNU? Police on campus, arrests and picking up students from hostels. This had last happened during Emergency."
This is not the first time that JNU, one of the country's top academic institutions, has witnessed events in support of Afzal Guru.

The patrols target supposed "black predators," Matthew wrote on the WSU's website, citing (among others) a case in which an African American man pulled out a knife and his penis, and wagged both at a co-ed couple who were copulating in a parking garage. "White Southern men," he wrote, "have long been called to defend their communities when law enforcement and the State seem unwilling to protect our people."
We recently went to Towson to meet Matthew and his cronies, as well as the students who want him off campus... or at least muzzled. White Student Union is a documentary about race, class, and self-righteous college students yelling at each other.

Kanhaiya Kumar, the president of the JNU students' union, was taken for questioning and then arrested this afternoon. He has been charged with sedition and conspiracy.
The arrest came hours after Home Minister Rajnath Singh warned of "stringent action" against the organisers of the event. "Anyone who raises anti-India slogans or tries to put a question mark on nation's unity and integrity will not be spared," the home minister said, adding that he had instructed the police to take strongest possible action.
The police searched the JNU campus in South Delhi for more students suspected to be involved in the event.
The police swooped down on the prestigious institution as protests raged on campus and near India Gate in the heart of Delhi over the event organized on Tuesday to mark the death anniversary of Afzal Guru.
Anti-India slogans were allegedly raised during the event, titled "The country without a post office", in which students organized an exhibition and a protest march.
The university claims it cancelled permission for the event, which was allegedly pitched as a cultural function. Vice-Chancellor Jagdeesh Kumar has called it an act of indiscipline.
The BJP's student wing Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) held protests and demanded action against the university and the students behind the Afzal Guru event.
Education Minister Smriti Irani also condemned the incident and said: "The nation can never tolerate any insult to mother India."
The student's arrest has drawn sharp reactions from opposition parties. Left leader Sitaram Yechury tweeted: What is happening in JNU? Police on campus, arrests and picking up students from hostels. This had last happened during Emergency."
This is not the first time that JNU, one of the country's top academic institutions, has witnessed events in support of Afzal Guru.

Statewide Unite the Vote coordinator Oneeta Cantlon highlighted this and other historical voter repression last night with the United the Vote event. The unite the vote event is part of a campaign to get underrepresented groups to go out and vote. The SOU groups that attended the event represent a variety of racial, gender, and sexual identities. Representatives from the Black Student Union, Latino Student Union, Native American Student Union, Multi-cultural Reseource Center, Queer resource center, Hawaii Club, and the student government, came out to this event. INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL '16: Discover the World in MANKATO
On Sunday, April 10, 2016, the tradition that is the Mankato Area International Festival returns to the Centennial Student Union. Now in its 40th year, the event that honors global diversity is the largest one-day event in the CSU. This year again features international entertainment by students and professional performers, global cuisine, children's world and more. The event opens at 11 a.m. with the colorful flag parade representing nearly 100 countries. Parade grand marshal is Tom Gjersvig, recently retired director of the Kearney International Center at Minnesota State University, Mankato. Festivities continue until 4 p.m.. Admission and parking are free. -

Student activists have been identified, groomed and moulded into leaders in various fields proficient to represent the Nation.
Pre-Independence Movement:
Student movement reached its apex during the struggle for independence due to strong participation of students from all sections of the society. Prior to 1950, the student activism of the Indian National Congress were carried out by the youth wing of the AICC.
Post-Independence Movement:
The student movement in Kerala and West Bengal gained momentum and resulted in the formation of the West Bengal Chhatra Parishad and the Kerala Students’ Union under the vast Congress canvas. Taking inspiration from these, Smt Indira Gandhi laid the foundation of the NSUI on 9th April 1971 to represent the voice of millions of students irrespective of their caste, creed, religion or region.
In 2007, Shri Rahul Gandhi brought about a revolution by democratizing the organization with open membership process and electing office bearers at all levels. This transformation process allowed many young leaders, without political background, to emerge from the grass root.
The organisation maintains a transparent process of membership. Our members elect OBs through an independently conducted and audited process of internal elections that are free, fair and absolutely democratic. NSUI, at present, has registered over 4 million members through Open Membership. Over 1,30,000 elected office bearers and formed Units in 14500 colleges across the country. Our motto of serving the student welfare is achieved through this grand network of members and young leaders.

On Sunday, April 10, 2016, the tradition that is the Mankato Area International Festival returns to the Centennial Student Union. Now in its 40th year, the event that honors global diversity is the largest one-day event in the CSU. This year again features international entertainment by students and professional performers, global cuisine, children's world and more. The event opens at 11 a.m. with the colorful flag parade representing nearly 100 countries. Parade grand marshal is Tom Gjersvig, recently retired director of the Kearney International Center at Minnesota State University, Mankato. Festivities continue until 4 p.m.. Admission and parking are free.

He was the chapter leader of Youth for Western Civilization at Towson University, which was forcibly shut down by the school administration. Matt talks about the different engagements he organized on campus to bring forth a new awareness of White student interests and to underscore the tremendous double standards that exist surrounding ethnic advocacy groups in formidably left-leaning educational institutions. Then, Matt explains his inspiration to take a stand for White interests and organize a healthy, organic movement in the spirit of celebrating the traditions and ancestry of his folk. Matt describes his ideas concerning a Southern American secession, and we look at the US’s founding Judaeo-masonic alliance. "I don't have any connection with any party. But the people who are standing up for me are also being called anti-nationals," he said.
"Sitharam Yechury and Rahul Gandhi are also being called anti-national," Kanhaiya said, adding that a lot was also being said against Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal.
"Actually, they are not speaking for JNU. they are merely making the distinction between right and wrong," he said. Kanhaiya also reminded the government that 69 percent of the country had voted against them in the Lok Sabha polls of 2014.
"You tried winning over people by saying 'har har'. But now people are angry because of 'arhar'," he said, making a reference to the rising price of dal.
'You always talk about Mann Ki Baat. For a change, talk about Maa ki baat.'
"I talked to my mother after 3 months. Whenever I stayed in JNU, I was not talking a lot to her. After going to jail, I realised the importance of talking to her," Kanhaiya said.
"My mother told me that she was not making fun of Modi. She said that it was the government which was making fun of them," he said.
"Kabhi mann ki baat karte hain...kabhi maa ki baat bhi kar lein (You always keep talking about Mann Ki Baat...talk about what the mother has to say for a change)," Kanhaiya further said.
"What is happening in the country is very dangerous. I am not talking about one party or one media channel. I am not only taking about soldiers. I am talking about the entire country," he said.
"What kind of a country will it be if it does not have any countrymen? We should salute all those who stood up for JNU," he said.
