RAQQA — An ISIS boss who taught jihadis how to decapitate people got his just desserts when he lost his own head to a British SAS sniper's rifle.
The marksman with the British Army's Special Air Service Regiment shot the ISIS executioner in the back of the head as he showed recruits at a training camp in northern Syria how to decapitate prisoners, according to the Daily Star Sunday.
The sniper was one of 20 SAS soldiers who sneaked into a terrorist-held area two weeks ago, an unnamed British military source told the Daily Star Sunday.
Intelligence reported that the area could not be bombed in an air strike because it was in a small village, close to a school, and the risk of collateral damage was too high.
The sniper got into position and waited almost 12 hours. The target: a jihadi training camp 1,200 meters away.
The SAS team waited until the ISIS commander began showing recruits how to cut prisoners' heads off, according to the Daily Star Sunday.
The sniper got the all-clear to fire as the ISIS chief demonstrated cutting motions with knives, axes and a sword.
Using a high-powered Dan .338 rifle and aiming more than a foot off to allow for the wind, the marksman took out the ISIS boss with one shot, the Daily Star Sunday reported, citing the military source.
The commander was reportedly easy to spot because he wore white robes, which is unusual for ISIS fighters.
Most of the 20 ISIS recruits deserted the camp following the SAS operation, according to the military source quoted by the Daily Star Sunday.
"We got rid of 21 terrorists with one bullet," the source said, according to the Daily Star Sunday.

Sergeant ‘Andy McNab’ DCM MM (born 28 December 1959) is the pseudonym of an English novelist and former SAS operative and soldier.
McNab came into public prominence in 1993, when he published his account of the Special Air Service (SAS) patrol, Bravo Two Zero for which he was awarded the Distinguished Conduct Medal in 1991. He had previously received the Military Medal in 1980, awarded for an action whilst serving with the Royal Green Jackets in Northern Ireland during 1979.
In addition to Bravo Two Zero he has written two other autobiographies and a number of fiction books.
McNab was born on 28 December 1959. Found abandoned on the steps of Guy's Hospital in Southwark, he was brought up in Peckham, with his adoptive family. He did not do well in school so dropped out and worked at various odd jobs, usually for friends and relatives, and was partly inspired to join the British Army because of his brother's time in the army.
He was involved in petty criminality until being arrested for burglary. In 1976, shortly after his arrest, he aspired to a career as an army pilot, but failed the entry test. In the same year, he enlisted with the Royal Green Jackets at the age of sixteen.

SYRIA — A British Special Air Service sniper saved a Syrian man and his son from being beheaded by shooting an ISIS soldier from a kilometer away seconds before he was going to execute them. The shooting reportedly happened last month in northern Syria near the Turkish border. An unnamed defence source told the Daily Star that there were several decapitated bodies already lying on the ground. The father and son were blindfolded and pulled in front of the crowd to be put on trial and executed because they wouldn't denounce their faith in the Shia sect of Islam. Tipped off by Iraqi spies, British forces considered conducting an airstrike with a Reaper drone but decided against it because of the number of civilians in the village. Instead, the sniper used a .50 caliber rifle with a silencer. The anonymous source described the scene to the Daily Star, saying: "Through binoculars the soldiers could see that the crowd were terrified and many were in tears." "A tall bearded man emerged and drew a long knife." "He began addressing the crowd and slapping the father and his son around the head and kicking them on to the floor." "Standing either side of the executioner were two other ISIS fighters, both armed with AK-47s." "The ISIS thug who was about to decapitate the father was shot in the head and collapsed." "The sniper then dispatched the two henchmen with single shots — three kills with three bullets." RAQQA — An ISIS boss who taught jihadis how to decapitate people got his just desserts when he lost his own head to a British SAS sniper's rifle.
The marksman with the British Army's Special Air Service Regiment shot the ISIS executioner in the back of the head as he showed recruits at a training camp in northern Syria how to decapitate prisoners, according to the Daily Star Sunday.
The sniper was one of 20 SAS soldiers who sneaked into a terrorist-held area two weeks ago, an unnamed British military source told the Daily Star Sunday.
Intelligence reported that the area could not be bombed in an air strike because it was in a small village, close to a school, and the risk of collateral damage was too high.
The sniper got into position and waited almost 12 hours. The target: a jihadi training camp 1,200 meters away.
The SAS team waited until the ISIS commander began showing recruits how to cut prisoners' heads off, according to the Daily Star Sunday.
The sniper got the all-clear to fire as the ISIS chief demonstrated cutting motions with knives, axes and a sword.
Using a high-powered Dan .338 rifle and aiming more than a foot off to allow for the wind, the marksman took out the ISIS boss with one shot, the Daily Star Sunday reported, citing the military source.
The commander was reportedly easy to spot because he wore white robes, which is unusual for ISIS fighters.
Most of the 20 ISIS recruits deserted the camp following the SAS operation, according to the military source quoted by the Daily Star Sunday.
"We got rid of 21 terrorists with one bullet," the source said, according to the Daily Star Sunday.

An unnamed defence source told the Daily Star that there were several decapitated bodies already lying on the ground. The father and son were blindfolded and pulled in front of the crowd to be put on trial and executed because they wouldn't denounce their faith in the Shia sect of Islam.
Tipped off by Iraqi spies, British forces considered conducting an airstrike with a Reaper drone but decided against it because of the number of civilians in the village. Instead, the sniper used a .50 caliber rifle with a silencer.
The anonymous source described the scene to the Daily Star, saying: "Through binoculars the soldiers could see that the crowd were terrified and many were in tears."
"A tall bearded man emerged and drew a long knife."
"He began addressing the crowd and slapping the father and his son around the head and kicking them on to the floor."
"Standing either side of the executioner were two other ISIS fighters, both armed with AK-47s."
"The ISIS thug who was about to decapitate the father was shot in the head and collapsed."
"The sniper then dispatched the two henchmen with single shots — three kills with three bullets."
"Someone from the crowd then ran over and untied the father and son's hands and took their blindfolds off."
