A backing vocalist or backing singer (or, especially in the U.S., backup singer or sometimes background singer or harmony vocalist) is a singer who provides vocal harmony with the lead vocalist or other backing vocalists. In some cases, a backing singer may sing alone as a lead-in to the main vocalist's entry or a counter-melody. While some bands use performers whose sole on-stage role is performing backing vocals, it is common for backup singers to have other roles. In many rock and metal bands, the musicians doing backup vocals also play instruments, such as guitar, electric bass, drums, or keyboards. In Latin or Afro-Cuban groups, backup singers may play percussion instruments or shakers while singing. In some pop and hip-hop groups and in musical theater, the backup singers may be required to perform elaborately-choreographed dance routines while they sing through headset microphones.

Justin Drew Bieber (
/ˈbiːbər/ BEE-bər, born March 1, 1994) is a Canadian Pop/R&B singer-songwriter, musician, and actor. Bieber was discovered in 2008 by Scooter Braun, who came across Bieber's videos on YouTube and later became his manager. Braun arranged for him to meet with Usher in Atlanta, Georgia, and Bieber was soon signed to Raymond Braun Media Group (RBMG), a joint venture between Braun and Usher, and then to a recording contract with Island Records offered by L.A. Reid. Bieber's debut single, "One Time", was released in 2009 and peaked in the top twenty in Canada and charted in the top thirty in several international markets. His debut album, the seven-track EP My World, followed in November 2009, and was soon certified platinum in the United States. He became the first artist to have seven songs from a debut album chart on the Billboard Hot 100.

Taylor Alison Swift (born December 13, 1989) is an American singer-songwriter and occasional actress. Raised in Wyomissing, Pennsylvania, Swift moved to Nashville, Tennessee at the age of fourteen to pursue a career in country music. She signed to the independent label Big Machine Records and became the youngest songwriter ever hired by the Sony/ATV Music publishing house. The release of Swift's self-titled debut album in 2006 established her as a country music star. "Our Song", her third single, made her the youngest sole writer and singer of a number one song on the country chart. She received a Best New Artist nomination at the 50th Grammy Awards.
Swift's second album, Fearless, was released in late 2008. Buoyed by the chart success of the singles "Love Story" and "You Belong with Me", Fearless attracted a crossover audience and became the top-selling album of 2009. The record won four Grammy Awards, with Swift becoming the youngest ever Album of the Year winner. Plot: Sugar Ray Five ~ Battle of the Bands Finalists/Winners 1984 - Sugar Ray Five were one of the six finalists and eventual winners of the 1984 Battle of the Bands Competition sponsored by TDK. The competition was held throughout the UK in which more than 1700 bands initially entered. Various Nationwide elimination heats were held in which Sugar Ray Five won each heat outright and were eventual outright winners at the Grand Final which was held at the world famous Hammersmith Odeon (now Hammersmith Apollo) in London in front of a capacity crowd and covered by the BBC. Sugar Ray Five completely annihilated the opposition on the night and ending up gaining 147 of the absolute maximum of 150 points available from the judges. Only ever performing original material the self-penned 7" single 'Lazy Hours' with 'March' on the flip side was released into the British charts the following year which received airplay on principal radio and TV but despite being rapidly tipped by the industry for great heights as a true force to be reckoned with in the mid-eighties music scene the group disbanded less than a year later.

On July 21, 1979 Bob Marley and The Wailers, Dick Gregory, Olatunji, Eddie Palmieri, Jabula, the art of Black Dance and Patti Labelle came to Harvard Stadium in Boston for a concert to benefit the on-going struggles in Zimbabwe, Namibia and South Africa. The concert was called AMANDLA.: Festival of Unity. A benfit Concert for Relief and Humanitarian Aid to Southern Africa.
25 years later in making this video of the performance of Bob Marley and the Wailers, we celebrate the triumph of these liberation struggles of the people of Southern Africa for equality, dignity and self determination.
This videotape is dedicated in memory of Bob marley singer of songs of freedom and in memory of Kwame Olatunji who was responsible for recording this historic event
This videotape is for the private non-commercial use of the Amandla Production Collective and Haymarket Concerts
Sound Notes
This is a sbd mix directly from the board (which means that what ever adjustments the soundman makes for the sound going through the PA speakers is what you get on your recording). If it was a patch from the sbd it has its own mix seperate from the house mix (which means the soundman adjustments are for the recording not the PA system, usually the mix is more balanced if the sound person has time to set this for the line out signal). Therefore these are the flaws on this recording In the beginning the bass was a liitle low. So from "No Woman No Cry" to the end of the show the sound engineer makes a change and adds more bass on the board feed.This is why you here a difference in sound. Unfortunatley
^ - the bass is a little to high on these 2 songs but then adjusted lower on the rest

This is a major upgrade in picture quality compared to the other source that is 3.13 gb and that does not include the speech. There is also another version with bonus material but that has a time code included. This does have a sbd adjustment where i indicated but that is the only flaw.

The three produced two more albums, A Momentary Lapse of Reason (1987) and The Division Bell (1994), and toured until 1994. After nearly two decades of acrimony, Pink Floyd reunited with Waters in 2005 for a performance at the global awareness event Live 8, but Gilmour and Waters have since stated they have no plans to reunite as a band again. Barrett died in 2006 and Wright in 2008. A new Pink Floyd studio album recorded without Waters partially originating from material recorded in 1993–1994, The Endless River, was released in November 2014.
Pink Floyd was inducted into the US Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1996, and the UK Music Hall of Fame in 2005. By 2013, the band had sold more than 250 million records worldwide, including 74.5 million certified units in the United States.

Muse are an English rock band from Teignmouth, Devon, formed in 1994. The band consists of Matt Bellamy (lead vocals, guitar, piano, keyboards), Chris Wolstenholme (bass guitar, backing vocals) and Dominic Howard (drums, percussion).
Muse mix sounds from genres such as electronic music and art rock, and forms such as classical music, rock opera and many others. The band's style has been also described as "space rock." AllMusic described their sound as a "fusion of progressive rock, glam, electronica, and Radiohead-influenced experimentation." On the band's association with progressive rock, Howard said: "I associate it [progressive rock] with 10-minute guitar solos, but I guess we kind of come into the category. A lot of bands are quite ambitious with their music, mixing lots of different styles – and when I see that I think it's great. I've noticed that kind of thing becoming a bit more mainstream."

Lollapalooza is an annual music festival featuring popular alternative rock, heavy metal, punk rock and hip hop bands, dance and comedy performances and craft booths. It has also provided a platform for non-profit and political groups and various visual artists.Conceived and created in 1991 by Jane's Addiction singer Perry Farrell as a farewell tour for his band, Lollapalooza ran annually until 1997, and was revived in 2003. From its inception through 1997 and its revival in 2003, the festival toured North America. In 2004, the festival organizers decided to expand the dates to two days per city, but poor ticket sales forced the 2004 tour to be canceled. In 2005, Farrell and the William Morris Agency partnered up with Austin, Texas–based company Capital Sports Entertainment (now C3 Presents) and retooled it into its current format as a weekend destination festival in Grant Park, Chicago, Illinois.
In 2010 it was announced that Lollapalooza would debut outside of the United States, with a branch of the festival staged in Chile's capital Santiago on April 2–3, 2011 where they partnered up with Santiago-based company Lotus. In 2011, the company Geo Events confirmed the Brazilian version of the event, which was held at the Jockey Club in São Paulo on 7 and 8 April 2012. In November 2014, the first European Lollapalooza was announced, which will be held at the former Tempelhof Airport in Berlin.
The music festival hosts more than 160,000 people over a two or three-day period. Lollapalooza has featured a diverse range of bands and has helped expose and popularize artists
