The plot now is recreating the partition era and utmost care is being taken to make it all authentic. We have shot in Kashmir and Punjab as well so that we maintain the authentic look and feel of the story. When I learnt about the fire sequence, I was adamant that I will do it myself and not use a body double. The production were hesitant, but I was convinced about it. We shot with all the necessary safety equipment but the heat inside the shop made me really uncomfortable. When the scene was shot I realized that I had developed rashes on my arms and even burnt myself on my shoulder. I was so involved in the scene that I did not feel any pain or burn while the shoot was on. The production immediately got some ice and rubbed it on my arms and shoulder and I was given medication. When I saw the output, I was thrilled and felt satisfied. If the scar remains, I’m going to call it a scar of achievement," quips the brave actress.
