Welcome to PennGen Laboratories.

PennGen is a genetic testing facility operated through the Section of Medical Genetics at the University of Pennsylvania's School of Veterinary Medicine. It is a collection of laboratories that coordinate as a not-for-profit unit, offering routine testing for a variety of genetic diseases, metabolic screening for inborn errors of metabolism, and a number of other diagnostic genetic services. PennGen also engages in research to uncover the genetic basis of a wide range of diseases in domestic animals.

We are now accepting online payments through a secure payment system that allows our users to pay using a credit card. All new testing reports/results will only be available after we receive a payment.

The School of Veterinary Medicine and PennGen have both had website makeovers. Please update your bookmarks, as they may no longer point to the right place.

In our effort to streamline the process of sample submissions, payments and reporting we have upgraded the PennGen Sample Submission Application. We are no longer accepting hand filled submission forms. The PennGen Sample Testing Application will enable users to request a test, track the status, pay online using a credit card and view the results. In order to use this application, you must create a PennGen account and login here►
