I'm not a still photographer per say. I know my way around the camera, I have been paid to take photos lots of times, but it has been more in a journalistic matter.
On a hobby level I shoot and develop film as a cheap way to practice film exposure for my s16mm experiments.
Lately I have been looking for ways to improve my skills as a cinematographer.
One way is to become better at taking stills.
If I can capture what I want in one frame, surely it must be easier with 24 frames per seconds.
I'm still not decided between the M8 and M9, but time will tell.

Finally, the next generation M body has arrived. Leica announced the previous M240 in September of 2012, although most retailers didn't sell them until early 2013. Not many brands can survive a 4-5 year update cycle for their flagship camera. Yes there's been various versions and special editions, but they were all basically designed around the same body, sensor and processor of the original. There were also distractions (for some diehard Leica fans), like the X series, the T series, The SL series and the Leica Q. Now that the new generation Leica M10 has arrived, how does it compare to the outgoing model?
The most important thing for the M series is thoughtful updates without any radical design changes, especially to the aesthetics and major functions of the camera. To that end, the M10 is a very well thought-out update. The new ISO dial, the updated viewfinder, the thinner film-like body, these are all things appealing to the M series fans. The removal of video and the addition of Wifi control also are universally (almost) praised. However, the biggest changes are internal, with a new 24MP sensor and processor (Maestro II). The M10 now has decent high ISO performance (easily handles ISO 3200-6400) and a larger buffer for continuous shooting (100 JPGs or 36 RAW files).

Jean-Louis Dumas
Jean-Louis Dumas (2 February 1938 – 1 May 2010) was a French businessman who served as the chairman of the Hermès group from 1978 until 2006. He also served as the company's artistic director. Dumas is credited with turning Hermès into a global luxury brand during his tenure as chairman.
Dumas' family founded Hermès in 1837. He turned Hermès into a global brand after taking in the chairmanship in 1978, adding interests in Jean-Paul Gaultier and the Leica camera maker to the company.
Jean Louis-Dumas retired as the chairman and artistic director of Hermès in January 2006 due to declining health. He died in Paris, France, on 1 May 2010, at the age of 72. He was replaced in the position by Pierre-Alexis Dumas, a great-great-great grandson of company founder.

Batman: Gotham Knight
Batman: Gotham Knight (バットマン ゴッサムナイト, Battoman Gossamunaito) is a 2008 direct-to-DVD anthology film of six short anime superhero films intended to be set in between the films Batman Begins (2005) and The Dark Knight (2008). It depicts Batman battling against the mob of Gotham City, as well as other villains. The producers have acknowledged that it is not necessarily meant to be canon to the The Dark Knight Trilogy and any of the six segments could easily fall into almost any Batman continuity. The shorts, or segments, are written by Josh Olson, David S. Goyer, Brian Azzarello, Greg Rucka, Jordan Goldberg and Alan Burnett. Although all based on Japanese anime art style, each segment has its own writing and artistic style, just as the works from the DC Universe, and with the same style of The Animatrix although some segments are connected. All six films of the feature star Kevin Conroy, reprising his voice role as Batman from the DC animated universe.

Finally, the next generation M body has arrived. Leica announced the previous M240 in September of 2012, although most retailers didn't sell them until early 2013. I'm not a still photographer per say. I know my way around the camera, I have been paid to take photos lots of times, but it has been more in a journalistic matter.
On a hobby level I shoot and develop film as a cheap way to practice film exposure for my s16mm experiments.
Lately I have been looking for ways to improve my skills as a cinematographer.
One way is to become better at taking stills.
If I can capture what I want in one frame, surely it must be easier with 24 frames per seconds.
I'm still not decided between the M8 and M9, but time will tell.

To that end, the M10 is a very well thought-out update. The new ISO dial, the updated viewfinder, the thinner film-like body, these are all things appealing to the M series fans. The removal of video and the addition of Wifi control also are universally (almost) praised. However, the biggest changes are internal, with a new 24MP sensor and processor (Maestro II). The M10 now has decent high ISO performance (easily handles ISO 3200-6400) and a larger buffer for continuous shooting (100 JPGs or 36 RAW files).

Finally, the next generation M body has arrived. Leica announced the previous M240 in September of 2012, although most retailers didn't sell them until early 2013. Not many brands can survive a 4-5 year update cycle for their flagship camera. Yes there's been various versions and special editions, but they were all basically designed around the same body, sensor and processor of the original. There were also distractions (for some diehard Leica fans), like the X series, the T series, The SL series and the Leica Q. Now that the new generation Leica M10 has arrived, how does it compare to the outgoing model?
The most important thing for the M series is thoughtful updates without any radical design changes, especially to the aesthetics and major functions of the camera. To that end, the M10 is a very well thought-out update. The new ISO dial, the updated viewfinder, the thinner film-like body, these are all things appealing to the M series fans.
