Maddie Corman (born August 15, 1970) is an American television actress. She has appeared in the films Seven Minutes in Heaven, Some Kind of Wonderful and The Adventures of Ford Fairlane.
Born Madeleine Cornman in Manhattan, New York, she began her career as a child actress in the 1980s. Corman's first television appearance was in the 1985 ABC Afterschool Special episode I Want to Go Home where she co-starred with John Getz, Seth Green and Marge Redmond.
That same year she was cast in the Linda Feferman-directed teen comedy-drama motion picture Seven Minutes in Heaven. Corman starred opposite actress Jennifer Connelly as 'Polly Franklin', Connelly's character's intervening and overzealous best friend who is in love with a Major League baseball player named 'Zoo Knudsen' (Billy Wirth).
In 1987, Corman appeared in the John Hughes penned film Some Kind of Wonderful as Laura, the little sister of Keith Nelson, played by Eric Stoltz.
Her follow up film was the 1990 Renny Harlin-directed comedy The Adventures of Ford Fairlane opposite Andrew "Dice" Clay, Priscilla Presley, Wayne Newton, Lauren Holly and Gilbert Gottfried.
"Some Kind of Wonderful" is a song by Gerry Goffin and Carole King that was first released by the Drifters in 1961. (It is not related to another song of the same name which was written by John Ellison and first released by Soul Brothers Six in 1967.)
The Drifters' original recording of the Goffin/King song reached #32 on the US Billboard pop chart and #6 on the R&B chart.
Notable covers include versions by Marvin Gaye (1968), Jay and the Americans (1970), Carole King (1971), Peter Cincotti (2004), Aled Jones featuring Cerys Matthews (2007), and Michael Bublé on the deluxe editions of his fourth studio album, Crazy Love (2010).
On the double album The Drifters 24 Original Hits (UK, 1975, Atlantic Records), the song is mistakenly credited to John Ellison. Conversely, on the Q-Tips debut album (UK, 1980, Chrysalis Records), the Ellison song is mistakenly credited to Goffin and King
The Antoinette Perry Award for Excellence in Theatre, more commonly known informally as the Tony Award, recognizes achievement in live Broadway theatre. The awards are presented by the American Theatre Wing and The Broadway League at an annual ceremony in New York City. The awards are given for Broadway productions and performances, and an award is given for regional theatre. Several discretionary non-competitive awards are also given, including a Special Tony Award, the Tony Honors for Excellence in Theatre, and the Isabelle Stevenson Award. The awards are named after Antoinette Perry, co-founder of the American Theatre Wing.
The rules for the Tony Awards are set forth in the official document "Rules and Regulations of The American Theatre Wing's Tony Awards", which applies for that season only. The Tony Awards are considered the highest U.S. theatre honor, the New York theatre industry's equivalent to the Academy Awards (Oscars) for motion pictures, the Grammy Awards for music and the Emmy Awards for television, and the Laurence Olivier Award for theatre in the United Kingdom and the Molière Award of France.

Craig Zadan and Neil Meron ("Hairspray Live!") chat bringing 'very, very timely' musical to live TV with Gold Derby's Zach Laws. Based on the Tony Award-winning musical (itself adapted from the 1988 John Waters cult classic), this NBC production centers on Tracy Turnblad (Maddie Baillio), an overweight teen living in 1960s Baltimore who dreams of starring on a hit TV dance show. Her tenacity eventually leads to the all-white cast being integrated with African American dancers. "Hairspray" was the latest Broadway musical to be given a live television event this past December, and the ensemble cast included Harvey Fierstein, Martin Short, Kristen Chenoweth, Andrea Martin, Jennifer Hudson, Ariana Grande, and Sean Hayes.
