Sunny may refer to:
A backing track is an audio recording on audiotape, CD or a digital recording medium or a MIDI recording of synthesized instruments, often of rhythm section or other accompaniment parts that live musicians play or sing along to. Backing tracks enable singers and bands to add parts to their music which would be impractical to perform live, such as string section or choir parts which were recorded in the studio.
Bands or solo musicians may use backing tracks to add extra instrumental or vocal tracks to a live performance, to enhance the sound (as in the employment of doubled backing vocals) or to replicate more closely the instrumentation heard on a recording (as in the use of additional recorded parts such as string sections which would be costly to reproduce live.) A singer or vocal group performing without a backup band may sing along to pre-recorded music. A music track without lead vocals may also be called a karaoke, minus-one track or playback. Music backing tracks are also available for instrumental practice and jamming by jazz musicians, to help beginning to intermediate performers learn to improvise over chord progressions. Backing tracks are also known as jam tracks. If bought commercially, backing tracks often use session musicians to play the instruments and backing vocals, rather than using the original recording of a song, because the rights to use the original performance of the backing parts of a song by a well-known band would be very costly to purchase.
Walter Theodore "Sonny" Rollins (born September 7, 1930) is an American jazz tenor saxophonist, widely recognized as one of the most important and influential jazz musicians. A number of his compositions, including "St. Thomas", "Oleo", "Doxy", "Pent-Up House", and "Airegin", have become jazz standards.
Rollins was born in New York City to parents from the United States Virgin Islands. The youngest of three siblings, he grew up in central Harlem and on Sugar Hill, Harlem, receiving his first alto saxophone at the age of seven or eight. He attended Edward W. Stitt Junior High School and graduated from Benjamin Franklin High School in East Harlem. He has said that a concert by Frank Sinatra at his high school, accompanied by a plea for racial harmony, changed his life. Rollins started as a pianist, changed to alto saxophone, and finally switched to tenor in 1946. During his high school years, he played in a band with other future jazz legends Jackie McLean, Kenny Drew and Art Taylor.

Another track for your jamming pleasure brought to you by Bassless Backing Tracks. Please like, comment and subscribe if you found this video helpful! St Thomas (1956) is a wonderfully cheerful Latin/calypso piece by Sonny Rollins. The 'head' has quite a defined rhythm which I've done my best to capture in the first and last renditions in the backing track. The tune is based on an English folk melody called "The Lincolnshire Poacher", which evolved into a Caribbean nursery rhyme that Rollins' mother sang to him as a child. Quite interesting!
