Sebastian Ingrosso

Sebastian Carmine Ingrosso (born 20 April 1983) is a Swedish DJ and electronic dance music producer. He was also a former member of the DJ supergroup Swedish House Mafia, together with friends Axwell and Steve Angello.

Background

Born in Nacka, Sweden, Ingrosso is of Italian descent and grew up in Stockholm, where he spent his teenage years in his choreographer father Vito Ingrosso's studio learning how to make music. His first official remix was released on Mega Records in 1999. He was ranked #26 in 2011 on DJ Mag's Top 100 DJ list, and won the award for the highest new entry into the chart in 2009, a record beaten only by Deadmau5 into the 2008 Top 100 DJ list at #10. Sebastian Ingrosso is head of A&R for his own record label, Refune, which has pioneered many artists in recent years including AN21, Max Vangeli, Style of Eye and Alesso.

Stephen

Stephen or Steven /ˈstiːvən/ is a masculine first name, derived from the Greek name Στέφανος (Stéfanos), in turn from the Greek word "στέφανος", meaning "wreath, crown, honour, reward", literally "that which surrounds or encompasses". In ancient Greece, a wreath was given to the winner of a contest (from which the crown, symbol of rulers derived). The use of the noun was first recorded in Homer's Iliad. The name is significant to Christians: according to the Book of Acts in the New Testament, Saint Stephen was a deacon who was stoned to death and is regarded as the first Christian martyr. The name has many variants, which include Stephan, Stevan, Stefan and Stevon.

In Middle English, the name Stephen or Stephan was pronounced as a bi-syllabic word — Step-hen or Step-han — much like a Scandinavian surname. Steve was pronounced as it is in Modern English. This etymological usage began a decline in the mid-19th century.

Steve is the common short form, while various diminutives such as Stevie and Ste are also used. Many family names are derived from Stephen: the most common are Stephens/Stevens and Stephenson/Stevenson (others include Stephen, Stephan, Staphan, Stefan, Stevin and Stever).

Until One

Until One is the first studio album by Swedish house music group Swedish House Mafia. It was released on 22 October 2010.

Critical reception

On its release, Until One received generally mixed reviews from most music critics. At Metacritic, which assigns a normalized rating out of 100 to reviews from mainstream critics, the album received an average score of 54, based on 6 reviews, which indicates "mixed or average reviews".

Steve Angello

Steve Angello (born Steven Angello Josefsson Fragogiannis; 22 November 1982) is a Greek-Swedish disc jockey, record producer and record label owner. Angello was a member of Swedish House Mafia, together with Axwell and Sebastian Ingrosso.

Biography

Angello was born to a Greek father and Swedish mother in Athens, Greece. Raised in Stockholm, Sweden, along with his brother AN21 (real name Antoine Josefsson), Angello began his musical and particularly dj-ing foray at 12 years of age.

Angello started out as a turntablist, fusing hip-hop, breakbeats and 1970s classics. By his late teens, he began getting into electronic music. Angello discovered house music through the club scene in Stockholm together with his best friend Sebastian Ingrosso, whilst listening to Da Funk. He was quoted to have "had a musical orgasm listening to this (song)."

Background

Angello's claim to fame came when he released his remix of Eurythmics "Sweet Dreams" in late 2004. Since then, he has established himself in the house music scene with such signature Beatport tracks as "KNAS", "Rave n' Roll" and "Yeah". He also accompanied his size edits for Junior Sanchez and Tim Mason, and made notable remix of the Robin S. track, "Show Me Love". Steve Angello is a prolific producer, with his, AN21's, and Max Vangeli's remix for Pendulum's 'The Island' and his own cut of Alex Metric's 'Open Your Eyes'. As a producer, his style can mainly be classified as house music with theatrical and epic themes.
