Many times in/around Miami but never to Key Biscayne, you gotta pay the TOLL to get in there, so first time exploring Key Biscayne, at the end not too impressed with this expensive Miami suburb located just south-east of Miami off US 1. Pretty much similar with Hilton Head, SC.

This was our video from our trip from Key Biscayne to Bimini Bahamas. Our group of jet skis included 3 Seadoos, 2008 215 rxt, 2014 GTI 155, 2015 RXTX 260 and one 2015 Kawasaki 310r. Everyone in our group was well prepared for the trip. We had all necessary safety equipment. Every ski had their own self made PVC rack to hold one cooler and one 5 gallon gas can. On the way over it didn't show in the video but we had 3-4ft seas leaving key Biscayne. We filmed when we could, mostly during stops as you can see in the video. The closer we got to Bimini the calmer the water got. On the return trip it was the total opposite. We had 40 miles of glass and the last 10-15 miles were back to mostly 3 footers and the occasional 4 footer. So more often then not, if you make the trip over try not to judge the trip in the first 10-15 miles leaving Miami. No matter how calm the wind seems to be, the water is more rough state side. It was an amazing trip and we will be doing it again! Definitely will have a boat next time as trying to snorkel and set things up would be easier. We all wanted to say we concurred the Miami to Bimini run on jet skis only, and we did just that! I highly recommend the trip to anyone as long as the proper precautions are made before hand.

This was our video from our trip from Key Biscayne to Bimini Bahamas. Our group of jet skis included 3 Seadoos, 2008 215 rxt, 2014 GTI 155, 2015 RXTX 260 and one 2015 Kawasaki 310r. Everyone in our group was well prepared for the trip. We had all necessary safety equipment. Every ski had their own self made PVC rack to hold one cooler and one 5 gallon gas can. On the way over it didn't show in the video but we had 3-4ft seas leaving key Biscayne. We filmed when we could, mostly during stops as you can see in the video. The closer we got to Bimini the calmer the water got. On the return trip it was the total opposite. We had 40 miles of glass and the last 10-15 miles were back to mostly 3 footers and the occasional 4 footer. 1966-1974: Nixon's The One...Who Lived On Key Biscayne This month marks the centennial of one of the most controversial American presidents, Richard M. Nixon, born January 9, 1913. Nixon's connections to South Florida were many: For one, he was nominated as the GOP's presidential candidate in Miami Beach at the 1968 Republican Convention; the 1972 convention, also held on Miami Beach, preceded his landslide victory in that year's election. Nixon had a more personal connection to Key Biscayne, where he maintained a second home for many years. This collection of clips focuses on the president's island compound. The first clip captures Nixon on the outs, a former Vice President and failed candidate for Governor of California, pitching in at the groundbreaking for a bank on Key Biscayne before re-entering his comfort zone and talking off-year politics with the press. Next, a clip from Election Day 1968 (November 5) shows the welcome Key Biscayne set up for the president-elect. Another color sequence records a photo op on Key Biscayne with Nixon, his wife Pat and vice president-elect Spiro Agnew and his wife. Note the tv news photographers shooting the event with film cameras! A sequence of aerial shots of Nixon's Key Biscayne compound and the surrounding area dates from 1974, less than a month after he resigned the presidency. And finally, a clip from December 1974 captures a crowd of curious locals descending on Key Biscayne for a look at the former president's residence, put on the market following Nixon's resignation. This was our video from our trip from Key Biscayne to Bimini Bahamas. Our group of jet skis included 3 Seadoos, 2008 215 rxt, 2014 GTI 155, 2015 RXTX 260 and one 2015 Kawasaki 310r. Everyone in our group was well prepared for the trip. We had all necessary safety equipment. Every ski had their own self made PVC rack to hold one cooler and one 5 gallon gas can. On the way over it didn't show in the video but we had 3-4ft seas leaving key Biscayne. We filmed when we could, mostly during stops as you can see in the video. The closer we got to Bimini the calmer the water got. On the return trip it was the total opposite. We had 40 miles of glass and the last 10-15 miles were back to mostly 3 footers and the occasional 4 footer. So more often then not, if you make the trip over try not to judge the trip in the first 10-15 miles leaving Miami. No matter how calm the wind seems to be, the water is more rough state side. It was an amazing trip and we will be doing it again! Definitely will have a boat next time as trying to snorkel and set things up would be easier. We all wanted to say we concurred the Miami to Bimini run on jet skis only, and we did just that! I highly recommend the trip to anyone as long as the proper precautions are made before hand.

This month marks the centennial of one of the most controversial American presidents, Richard M. Nixon, born January 9, 1913. Nixon's connections to South Florida were many: For one, he was nominated as the GOP's presidential candidate in Miami Beach at the 1968 Republican Convention; the 1972 convention, also held on Miami Beach, preceded his landslide victory in that year's election.
Nixon had a more personal connection to Key Biscayne, where he maintained a second home for many years. This collection of clips focuses on the president's island compound.
The first clip captures Nixon on the outs, a former Vice President and failed candidate for Governor of California, pitching in at the groundbreaking for a bank on Key Biscayne before re-entering his comfort zone and talking off-year politics with the press. Next, a clip from Election Day 1968 (November 5) shows the welcome Key Biscayne set up for the president-elect. Another color sequence records a photo op on Key Biscayne with Nixon, his wife Pat and vice president-elect Spiro Agnew and his wife. Note the tv news photographers shooting the event with film cameras!
A sequence of aerial shots of Nixon's Key Biscayne compound and the surrounding area dates from 1974, less than a month after he resigned the presidency. And finally, a clip from December 1974 captures a crowd of curious locals descending on Key Biscayne for a look at the former president's residence, put on the market following Nixon's resignation.
