More than 5,000 of Iowa’s best young dancers showcased their talent in what is considered to be one of the nation’s largest and most prestigious events of its kind. The 2017 Iowa State Dance Team Championships were held at Wells Fargo Arena and Hy-Vee Hall in Des Moines, where a record-setting 270 high school and 26 college teams competed for state championship top honors. This exclusive Iowa Public Television two-hour program features highlights of all the winning routines and busy backstage action.
