What really comes across on this record is the band's energy and dynamism - the wide range of influences bounce off each other explosively, creating a sound with a definite and unique edge. There is a riotous sense of fun in the party groove attitude of tracks like "Party Girl", "When You Gonna Learn" and "The Jinx"; whilst the downtempo tracks ooze cult cool on "Catwoman' Strut" and "Burlesque Queen", co-written with Tura Satana, star of the film "Faster Pussycat, Kill, Kill" and sung smokily by Kay Elizabeth. Then there are the surf-guitar instrumentals, "Eat My Dust A Phonic" opens the album with a high speed trip down a 60's speedway complete with samples, whilst Mariachi horns add spice to the surf groove of "Showman Twang Tiki Gods". The delta-blues of "Wrecking My Life" adds to the nostalgic Americana and we are even treated to an Instrumental version of the Sonic's "Shot Down" and a tribute to a certain influence on "Take It From Diddley".

2.No Place To Fall
"Renegade Mode" is the latest of Warm Soda's singles to this day and I personally consider this as one of Matthew Melton's best songs ever. Backed with the very footstomping "No Place To Fall".

Both singles in the same file, HERE:

Front man Matthew Melton of Bare Wires seemed to care about two things: writing hook heavy garage songs and taking these songs on the road every chance he could get. Whether he was touring the U.S. with Thee Oh Sees, opening for Mark Sultan in Europe, or playing a house show somewhere in between, the band just never stopped.Yet, after spending the last three years being the uncontested kings of the road, Bare Wires are dead. The Oakland staple crumbled during SXSW this year. After failed performances one member ended up hospitalized and another MIA. Melton packed up the van and headed home, knowing that Bare Wires had run its course.

From the ruins of this tour comes the last Bare Wires record. The album unintentionally takes us through the Bare Wires timeline. Melton’s influences unfold from his early worship of Stooges/Gories to the later imprints of Glam/Power Pop-heavy records recalling T-Rex and Gary Glitter. Although it may not have been evident while churning out these final bittersweet songs that this would be the end of Bare Wires. Melton certainly made it count. From the ashes of Bare Wires comes Melton’s final masterpiece, Idle Dreams.

The Bad Beats - His Vengeful Hand

The Bad Beats are a Canadian garage/ Rock'n'Roll quintet from Vancouver, BC, consisting of Cam Alexander - Vocals Adam Payne - Guitar; Richard Katynski - Bass; Derek McDonald - Keys; Michael Nathanson - Drums.

Their debut full length album, "His Vengeful Hand" , was released recently on the German label Soundflat records.

The album kicks off with "Knock yourself out", a soon to be classic garage rocker that sets the tone for the rest of the record: strong but melodic vocals, monolithic guitar riffs, a swirling organ and a powerful rhythm section. Their rendition of Shocking Blue's "Send me a postcard" comes next and is given the Bad Beats treatment, i.e. completely boosted with all the needles in the red.

Other fine covers include the Mono Men's "Watch outside", The Sparkles "Hipsville 29 BC" and "Love has no time" from The Miracle Workers LP "Inside Out" but the bands original songs are all great as well.

Bad Beats have not compromised sound quality in the name of authenticity. Although they stare back into the past, the sound you hear does nothing but look into the future.Whereas some bands feel the need to doctor their sound, The Beats don’t believe in studio gimmicks and prefer their sound to be unadulterated.

This is a great album and I can only advice to buy it here:
