Mario Cristobal

Mario Manuel Cristobal (born September 24, 1970) is an American football coach and former player. He currently is the offensive line coach at the University of Alabama. He was the head coach at FIU from 2007 to 2012, becoming the first ever Cuban-American Division I head football coach.

Playing career

High school career

Cristobal played high school football at Christopher Columbus High School in Miami, Florida. He graduated in 1988.

College career

Cristobal was a four-year letterman with the University of Miami Hurricanes football team between 1989-1992. During this time Cristobal was a member of the Hurricanes' 1989 and 1991 national championship teams and in 1992 earned First-Team All-Big East Conference as an offensive tackle.

Cristobal was interviewed about his time at the University of Miami for the documentary The U, which premiered December 12, 2009 on ESPN.

Professional career

After graduating from Miami in 1993, Cristobal was signed by the Denver Broncos in 1994 as an undrafted free agent playing only in the preseason. He then went on to join the Amsterdam Admirals of NFL Europe for the 1995 and 1996 seasons before retiring to pursue coaching.

Mario (Japanese: マリオ, Hepburn: Mario, [ma.ɽi.o]) (English /ˈmɑːrioʊ/; Italian: [ˈmaːrjo]) is a fictional character in the Mario video game franchise, created by Nintendo's Japanese video game designer, Shigeru Miyamoto. Serving as the company's mascot and the eponymous protagonist of the series, Mario has appeared in over 200 video games since his creation. Depicted as a short, pudgy, Italian plumber who resides in the Mushroom Kingdom, his adventures generally center upon rescuing Princess Peach from the Koopa villain Bowser. His younger brother is Luigi.

The Mario franchise is the best-selling video game franchise of all time. Over 210 million units of the overall Mario series of games have been sold. Outside of the Super Mario platform series, other Mario genres include the Mario Kart racing series, sports games such as the Mario Tennis and Mario Golf series, role-playing games such as Super Mario RPG and Paper Mario, and educational games such as Mario Is Missing! and Mario's Time Machine. The franchise has branched into several mediums, including television shows, film, comics and licensed merchandise. Since 1995, Mario has been voiced by Charles Martinet.

Oregon Ducks

The Oregon Ducks refers to the sports teams of the University of Oregon, located in Eugene, Oregon, United States. The Oregon Ducks are part of the Pac-12 Conference in the Division 1 of the NCAA. With eighteen varsity teams, the Oregon Ducks are best known for their football team and Track and Field program, which has helped to make Eugene be known as "Track Town, USA". Nicknames and mascot history

Oregon teams were originally known as Webfoots, possibly as early as the 1890s. The Webfoots name originally applied to a group of fishermen from the coast of Massachusetts who had been heroes during the American Revolutionary War; their descendants had settled in Oregon's Willamette Valley in the 19th century and the name stayed with them. A naming contest in 1926 won by Oregonian sports editor L. H. Gregory made the Webfoots name official, and a subsequent student vote in 1932 affirmed the nickname, chosen over other suggested nicknames such as Pioneers, Trappers, Lumberjacks, Wolves, and Yellow Jackets.
