The Mohawk people (who identify as Kanien'kehá:ka) are the most easterly tribe of the Iroquois Confederacy, and are also known as the “People of the Flint Place.” They are an Iroquoian-speaking indigenous people of North America. They were historically based in the Mohawk Valley in present-day upstate New York west of Albany; their territory ranged to the St. Lawrence River and present-day southern Quebec and eastern Ontario, greater New Jersey, and southward into present-day Pennsylvania, eastward to the Green Mountains of Vermont, and westward to the border with the Oneida Nation's traditional homeland territory. As one of the five original members of the Iroquois League, or Haudenosaunee, the Mohawk were known as the Keepers of the Eastern Door. For hundreds of years, they guarded the Iroquois Confederation against invasion from that direction by tribes from the New England and lower New York areas. Their current major settlements include areas around Lake Ontario and the St Lawrence River in Canada and New York.
Homework, or a homework assignment, is a set of tasks assigned to students by their teachers to be completed outside the class. Common homework assignments may include a quantity or period of reading to be performed, writing or typing to be completed, problems to be solved, a school project to be built (such as a diorama or display), or other skills to be practiced.
The basic objectives of assigning homework to students are the same as schooling in general: to increase the knowledge and improve the abilities and skills of the students. However, opponents of homework cite homework as rote, or grind work, designed to take up children's time, without offering tangible benefit. Homework may be designed to reinforce what students have already learned, prepare them for upcoming (or complex or difficult) lessons, extend what they know by having them apply it to new situations, or to integrate their abilities by applying many different skills to a single task. Homework also provides an opportunity for parents to participate in their children's education.

Creative Commons (CC) is a non-profit organization devoted to expanding the range of creative works available for others to build upon legally and to share. The organization has released several copyright-licenses known as Creative Commons licenses free of charge to the public. These licenses allow creators to communicate which rights they reserve, and which rights they waive for the benefit of recipients or other creators. An easy-to-understand one-page explanation of rights, with associated visual symbols, explains the specifics of each Creative Commons license. Creative Commons licenses do not replace copyright, but are based upon it. They replace individual negotiations for specific rights between copyright owner (licensor) and licensee, which are necessary under an "all rights reserved" copyright management, with a "some rights reserved" management employing standardized licenses for re-use cases where no commercial compensation is sought by the copyright owner. The result is an agile, low-overhead and low-cost copyright-management regime, profiting both copyright owners and licensees. Wikipedia uses one of these licenses.
Ross Birchard (born 11 February 1986), better known by the stage name Hudson Mohawke, is a Scottish electronic music record producer, disk jockey, and songwriter from Glasgow, Scotland, affiliated with the LuckyMe collective. He is signed to Warp Records and Kanye West's label, GOOD Music. He released his debut album on Warp, called Butter in October 2009. Mohawke makes up one half of the trap music producer/DJ duo TNGHT with Canadian producer/DJ Lunice.
At the age of 15, Birchard (under the name DJ Itchy) was the youngest ever UK DMC finalist. His earliest gigs as a club DJ were with Glasgow University's Subcity Radio where he first appeared as part of the culture city kids show and later as part of other shows including Turntable Science with Pro Vinylist Karim and Cloudo's Happy Hardcore show, under the alias DJ Mayhem. Birchard became "Hudson Mohawke" after seeing the name engraved on a statue in the hallway of his accommodation.
In 2009, Hudson Mohawke signed to Warp Records, despite a very limited track record of official releases; in fact, the bulk of his releases were unofficial tracks and DJ mixes circulated on the Internet. His first official release to get major notice was entitled "Spotted" on the Rush Hour beat compilation Beat Dimensions Vol 1, which then lead to a release entitled "Free Mo", a track on the Ubiquity Records various-artists compilation Choices, Vol. 1 (2007); subsequently, he was featured as a remixer on Choices, Vol. 2 (2007). In 2008 his 12" EP Ooops! on LuckyMe/Wireblock became an underground sensation, particularly once word spread of his recording contract with Warp.

On Monday June 1st 2009 the Canadian Border Service Agency was to become armed. At the port in Akwesasne, Mohawk Nation Territory the people protested. At 11:30 pm May 31st the CBSA personnel abandoned their facility and evacuated our territory. Since that day, Akwesasne people have held a peaceful encampment on the grounds adjacent to the facility. This is the first in a series on the ongoing events in the camp and the people who maintain it.

Maker Faire 2011 was a truly spectacular event. Bringing together a wide variety of creative, clever and extraodrinary people from all over the Vancouver Mainland (and some from the Island too!). What a stellar first year of the festival. Maker Faire will be back in 2012 and it'll be bigger and better. Stay tuned to https://www.facebook.com/makerfairevan for more details. As a 2nd unit cameraman on the first season of Pee Wee's Playhouse, produced by Broadcast Arts in NYC, I got to shoot this live action background plate of a punk rock pogo dance party. The footage was shot with a 16mm Bolex camera with people that worked in the film and art department who looked the part, and people literally pulled in off the streets from the East Village. Pee Wee Herman and Cowboy Curtis (Lawrence Fishburne) wearing mohawk wigs, were shot separately in front of a green screen so they could be matted in front of the other dancers. For more fun with Pee Wee and Cowboy Curtis see "Pee Wee's Psychedelic Adventure" https://vimeo.com/66297188

Why chase plastic for life? Love at First Flight is a documentary on ultimate, or rather, why people play ultimate. It is a documentary for non-players that tries to explain our passion for the sport that we love. It was finished in the July of 2012, but due to some issues, it was released in the September of 2013. A lot has changed since then, and I've learned even more about ultimate, life and other things. For one, I've had even bigger achievements, and now expect to have even more. It goes to show how much of a dark space I was in back when I made the documentary. Also, Felix cut his decade old mohawk, quite a shocker! Bob left her job and traveled around Europe on a bike (she actually still is travelling while I'm writing this), I won a Spirit award with at the European Beach Champ...
