Ijaazat

Ijaazat (meaning "permission") is an 1988 Indian Hindi film directed by Gulzar, based on a Bengali story, Jatugriha by Subodh Ghosh. Starring Rekha, Naseeruddin Shah and Anuradha Patel in leading roles, the film followed the story of couple who are separated and who accidentally meet in a railway station waiting room and discover some truths about their lives without each other. The film belongs to the art-house genre in India known as Parallel Cinema, and won two National Film Awards in the music category.

Plot

The movie is a powerful story that deals with feminism and patriarchy in the middle class India. It is about the present and past of Mahender and Sudha together as well as separately. The movie starts with Mahender (Naseeruddin Shah) getting down at the railway station and making his way to the waiting room just as it starts to rain heavily. A woman, Sudha (Rekha), is already sitting in the waiting room. On seeing him, she tries to hide from him but later they confront each other.

Subscription business model

Asha Bhosle

Asha Bhosle (born 8 September 1933), commonly referred to as Ashaji, is an Indian singer. She is best known as a playback singer in Hindi cinema, although she has a wider repertoire. Bhosle's career started in 1943 and has spanned over six decades. She has done playback singing for over a thousand Bollywood movies. In addition, she has recorded several private albums and participated in numerous solo concerts in India and abroad. Bhosle is the sister of playback singer Lata Mangeshkar.

Renowned for her voice range and often credited for her versatility, Bhosle's work includes film music, pop, ghazals, bhajans, traditional Indian classical music, folk songs, qawwalis, and Rabindra Sangeets. Apart from Hindi, she has sung in over 20 Indian and foreign languages. In 2006, Asha Bhosle stated that she had sung over 12,000 songs, a figure repeated by several other sources. In 2011, she was officially acknowledged by the Guinness Book of World Records as the most recorded artist in music history. The Government of India honoured her with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 2000 and the Padma Vibhushan in 2008. In 2013, she made her debut as an actress in the film Mai, and received critical acclaim for her performance.

They have composed and performed songs for Bollywood movies such as Policegiri, Oh My God!, Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum, Yeh Dooriyan, Do Dooni Chaar, Paan Singh Tomar and Isi Life Mein Due to the success of their single Jogi Singh Barnala Singh from the album Boond, Harmeet and Manmeet were motivated to switch from acting to music. They are well known for their composition "Baby Doll" for "Ragini MMS 2".
They have composed the music for upcoming films including "Hate Story 3", "Ki and Ka", "Mastizaade" and "Shimla Mirchi".

Anuradha was born in Mumbai. Her maternal grandfather is famous Hindi actor Ashok Kumar.

Anuradha was nominated for the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress for Ijaazat (1987), but lost it to Sonu Walia.
