A quick tour of "beautiful downtown Phoenix Arizona" on "central avenue".
This was shot with a "gopro" mounted to the inner windshield of my "Nissan Frontier".

Savvy locals know that downtown Phoenix is filled with independent restaurants, live entertainment, cultural attractions, and great hotels within walking distance of it all. But some visitors still manage to wander around in a state of blissful grumpiness.

PHOENIX -- If all goes as planned, construction on a new high-rise development in Downtown Phoenix will begin late next year.
The 'Central Station' project recently cleared another hurdle, a vote by city councilors to approve a developer.
"It's going to be built by a Chicago-based developer that's successfully built several high-rises in Chicago," said Eric Johnson with the city's economic development office.
The 34-story mixed-use building will be located at Central and Van Buren, where the current Central Station is. We're told that will be incorporated into the new building.
"Ground floor structure that houses our transit center and other commercial and retail space," Johnson said.
The project is expected to cost $82 million.
It will also have 475 residential units ranging in price from $800 to $1,600 a month. The hope is to attract both professionals and students.

Riding into downtown Phoenix on Central Avenue and then heading through on Jefferson. I'm lucky to live in a place where this can be considered rush hour, but every now and then drivers can be jerks around here. I was honked at once, then caught and passed the guy at the next light and waved at him. This is not a terribly exciting video, but it shows a lot of downtown from a perspective you never see :)

Downtown Phoenix
Downtown Phoenix is the central business district (CBD) of the City of Phoenix, Arizona, United States. It is located in the heart of the Phoenix metropolitan area or Valley of the Sun. Phoenix, being the county seat of Maricopa County and the capital of Arizona, serves as the center of politics, justice and government on the local, state and federal levels. The area is a major center of employment for the region, with many financial, legal, and other national and international corporations housed in a variety of skyscrapers. Major arts and cultural institutions also call the area home. Downtown Phoenix is a center of major league sports activities, live concert events, and is an equally prominent center of banking and finance in Arizona. Regional headquarters for several major banks, including JP Morgan Chase, Wells Fargo, US Bank, Bank of America, Compass Bank and Midfirst Bank are all located within or close proximity to the area.
The City of Phoenix defines Downtown as the area between 7th Street and 7th Avenue, from McDowell Road on the north to Buckeye Road on the south. However, the majority of downtown development is concentrated in the smaller area surrounding the intersection of Washington St. and Central Ave (which is the point of origin of Phoenix street addresses and numbering). Downtown Phoenix is one of a few major business districts in the city; others include Midtown Phoenix to the north, and the Biltmore District four miles northeast of downtown.

Riding into downtown Phoenix on Central Avenue and then heading through on Jefferson. I'm lucky to live in a place where this can be considered rush hour, but every now and then drivers can be jerks around here. I was honked at once, then caught and passed the guy at the next light and waved at him. This is not a terribly exciting video, but it shows a lot of downtown from a perspective you never see :)

PHOENIX (AP) — The Arizona National Guard is sending more than two dozen soldiers to Afghanistan. The Guard says members of the 159th Finance Detachment will get a send-off ceremony Saturday afternoon at the Petty Crew Armory in Phoenix. They will be overseas for approximately nine months. Maj.
