The Hill may refer to:
The Hill is an American political newspaper published in Washington, D.C. since 1994. It is owned by News Communications, Inc., which is owned by Capitol Hill Publishing, Chairman James A. Finkelstein.
Focusing on the intersection of politics, policy, business and international relations, The Hill coverage includes Congress, the White House and federal campaigns. It has policy verticals on Cybersecurity, Defense, Energy & Environment, Finance, Healthcare, National Security, Technology, and Transportation.
The Hill's first editor was Martin Tolchin, a veteran correspondent in the Washington bureau of The New York Times.
In 2003, Hugo Gurdon, who was previously a foreign correspondent (New York, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Washington, industrial editor at The Daily Telegraph (London) and founding managing editor of the Toronto-based National Post, became The Hill's editor in chief. Gurdon turned The Hill from a weekly paper into a daily during congressional sessions. In 2014, Gurdon left for Washington Examiner and was replaced by his managing editor, Bob Cusack.
The Hill is the southwestern-most neighborhood of New Haven, Connecticut. As early as 1800, this area was known as "Sodom Hill". Located directly south of Downtown New Haven, the neighborhood is now home to New Haven Union Station as well as Yale-New Haven Hospital and the Yale School of Medicine.
Originally a distinct suburb of New Haven, The Hill began its urban development in the early 1800s. The sub-neighborhood south of Columbus Ave now known as Trowbridge Square was established in the 1830s by brothers Nathaniel and Simeon Jocelyn. Known at first as the village of Spireworth, this enclave was founded as a rare example of a racially integrated planned community.
In the middle of the century waves of Irish and German immigrants began pouring into the neighborhood. African-Americans migrated from the American South, and this neighborhood also served as a stop on the Underground Railroad.
In 1957 a sizable swath of the Hill containing 881 households and 350 businesses was flattened to make way for the Oak Street Connector, a 1.1 mile highway stub that was never extended toward Derby as originally planned. In 2013 New Haven began work to downgrade the Oak Street Connector into city streets in an effort to reconnect The Hill to Downtown New Haven.
Fénix (born December 30, 1990) is a Mexican luchador enmascarado, or masked professional wrestler. After originally starting his career on the Mexican independent circuit in April 2006, he signed with Asistencia Asesoría y Administración (AAA) in January 2011, where he became the inaugural AAA Fusión Champion in March 2013. Through AAA, Fénix also began working for Lucha Underground in late 2014, becoming the inaugural Gift of the Gods Champion in April 2015 and winning the promotion's top title, the Lucha Underground Championship, the following November. He has also wrestled in Japan for Pro Wrestling Noah and Pro Wrestling Wave. His real name is not a matter of public record, as is often the case with masked wrestlers in Mexico, where their private lives are kept a secret from the wrestling fans.
Fénix started his professional wrestling career in 2005, working as Máscara Oriental ("Oriental Mask") on the Mexican independent circuit in places like Puebla, Pachuca and Querétaro. He was eventually also invited by Blue Demon Jr. to work for his NWA Mexico and by Crazy Boy to work for his Desastre Total Ultraviolento (DTU) promotion, before getting the opportunity to work for Asistencia Asesoría y Administración (AAA), one of the top two promotions in the country.
Phoenix was a vessel launched in France in 1809. After the British captured her she was sold and her new owners employed her as whaler. She visited the Galapagos islands in July 1823. In 1824, while under the command of John Palmer, she discovered Phoenix Island, later known as Rawaki Island, as well as Kanton Island.
Phénix was built in Bordeaux in 1809. In 1810 she was under the command of Jacques François Perroud, a notable French captain with a long history of privateering. Under Perroud's command, Phénix made a number of captures.
On 25 January 1810 the privateer Phoenix, of 20 guns and 110 men, belonging to Bordeaux, captured the Donna Maria, Lunes, master, which had been sailing from Boston to Lisbon. However, on 9 February HMS Conflict recaptured Donna Maria on 9 February; she arrived at Plymouth on 24 February.
On 13 March, the English ship Chatham, which had sailed from Georgia with a cargo of rice and cotton, arrived at Paimbœuf. Chatham was a prize to the Phoenix, of Bordeaux.
PHOENIX is a multipurpose Radar Data Processing System(RDPS) / Surveillance Data Processing System (SDPS) - a.k.a. tracker - used for many ATC applications in the Deutsche Flugsicherung (DFS), and is continuously extended and maintained ever since. PHOENIX is also foreseen as a fundamental component for all future ATM systems in the DFS into the 2020s and part of the DFS initiative for “ATS componentware” in the European SESAR programme.
Since 2001, the DFS has developed its own radar and sensor data processing system, called PHOENIX (a programmatic name instead of an acronym), which is applied in a variety of environments, for a variety of purposes, and with a variety of functional requirements. With PHOENIX the DFS aimed at the level of an advanced ATC system in terms of the previous definitions, not to ATM. To meet these challenges a series of general concepts had been developed and implemented, which are of general interest for the definition and implementation of advanced ATC and C³ systems.
A hill is a landform that extends above the surrounding terrain. It often has a distinct summit, although in areas with scarp/dip topography a hill may refer to a particular section of flat terrain without a massive summit (e.g. Box Hill, Surrey).
The distinction between a hill and a mountain is unclear and largely subjective, but a hill is universally considered to be less tall and less steep than a mountain. In the United Kingdom, geographers historically regarded mountains as hills greater than 1,000 feet (300 m) above sea level, which formed the basis of the plot of the 1995 film The Englishman Who Went Up a Hill But Came Down a Mountain. In contrast, hillwalkers have tended to regard mountains as peaks 2,000 feet (610 m) above sea level: the Oxford English Dictionary also suggests a limit of 2,000 feet (610 m) and Whittow states "Some authorities regard eminences above 600 m (2,000 ft) as mountains, those below being referred to as hills." The Great Soviet Encyclopedia defines hill as an upland with a relative height up to 200 m (660 ft).

Ali Breland is the Technology reporter at The Hill newspaper where he writes and reports 3-5 news stories a day, in addition to grinding out 1-3 more analytical, deeply reported stories a week. Not bad for someone who just graduated from UT Austin in 2014 with a B.A. in Plan II and minors in English and Philosophy. To get to where he is now, Breland cut his teeth at The Alcalde (UT Austin Alumni Magazine) as an editorial intern and hustled outside of classes to interview artists and celebrities for CNN, The Christian Science Monitor, and The Huff Post. Breland also dabbled in a wide variety of other interests including winemaking as a Harvest intern (didn’t realize this was a job title) at Patz & Hall Winery and snowboarding. His love of journalism and technology landed him a bunch of di...

The Hill may refer to:
Long was the time, long, long was the time again
Long was the time, long, long was the time again
Long was the time when they say the phoenix was calling
Even through the city and the rain I could hear she was falling
Found her in the coldest light of that early morning
I could see those cuts and bruises only told a little bit of the story
Can you see the history now?
Looked up like a secret in her father's house
Very military was his rationale
And he was the worst of the demons
Well, she went up and down
Dug herself deep into the underground
Looking for the sugar and the candy now
So she gave away all the feelings
The only problem was the phoenix did not care, no
She let me burn by her side 'cause she never ever cared
Oh woah, oh woah, my lady phoenix
Oh woah, oh woah
Long was the time, long, long was the time again
Long was the time, long, long was the time again
Lost myself on why you could never take advantage twice
She will always catch you in her vice when everything crashes
This is a warning for you, you should never test her anger
You could lose all you have in this world, yeah
Well, she'll go harder now
Dig herself deeper in the underground
Looking to replace her angry daddy now
'Cause that's just what burns at this phoenix
Oh woah, oh woah, my lady phoenix
Oh woah, oh woah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
This is just a warning
The only problem was the phoenix wasn't there
How could I tell with all the blood and the flames
You shouldn't tempt her if your loving wasn't there
She'll always rise from the ashes once again, once again, yeah
Oh woah, oh woah, my lady phoenix
Oh woah, oh woah
Long was the time, long, long was the time again
