The new Honda Civic Type R is getting closer to launching in North America and Honda is teasing us once again with a new prototype. This fresh prototype debuted alongside the new Honda Civic Hatchback at the 2016 Paris Motor Show. This is likely very close to the version that will come to the United States next year as a 2018 model year vehicle.

We tested the 2016 Honda Civic Type R at its launch but now we have got this 306BHP beast back on home soil. Ready for its extensive road test, this Brilliant Sporty Blue Metallic Type R is powered by a 2.0 litre turbocharged VTEC engine. 0-62MPH take just 5.7 seconds and it will go onto a top speed of 167MPH. All of that is sent to the front wheels which have Honda's dual axis suspension to counter torque steer. Unique Continental tyres help this new 2016 Honda Civic Type R grip the road.

This is the 2017 Honda Civic Type R and it has been revealed in near production form at the Paris Motor Show. Looking mean, it is based upon the new 10th generation Honda Civic hatchback and features an aggressive bonnet scoop, large rear wing, and triple exhaust pipes. It is expected to be powered by the sam 2.0 litre turbocharged VTEC engine as its hot hatchback predecessor.
Unlike previous Type R models, this car will be sold in America and is to replace the current Type R in Europe.
The Production 2017 Honda Civic Type R will be shown at Geneva next year with the car going on sale later in 2017. Honda aim to reclaim their Nurburgring lap time record.

2017 Honda Civic Type R Hatchback: Everything You Need To Know - Inside Lane
This is the 2017 Honda Civic Type R and it has been revealed in near production form at the Paris Motor Show. Looking mean, it is based upon the new 10th generation Honda Civic hatchback and features an aggressive bonnet scoop, large rear wing, and triple exhaust pipes. It is expected to be powered by the sam 2.0 litre turbocharged VTEC engine as its hot hatchback predecessor. Unlike previous Type R models, this car will be sold in America and is to replace the current Type R in Europe. The Production 2017 Honda Civic Type R will be shown at Geneva next year with the car going on sale later in 2017. Honda aim to reclaim their Nurburgring lap time record.

It is expected to be powered by the sam 2.0 litre turbocharged VTEC engine as its hot hatchback predecessor.
Unlike previous Type R models, this car will be sold in America and is to replace the current Type R in Europe.
The Production 2017 Honda Civic Type R will be shown at Geneva next year with the car going on sale later in 2017. Honda aim to reclaim their Nurburgring lap time record.
