Rickard Lars Gunnar Roland Rakell (born May 5, 1993) is a Swedish professional ice hockey centre currently playing for the Anaheim Ducks of the National Hockey League (NHL). He was selected 30th overall in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft by the Ducks.
Rakell played his first NHL game following the 2012–13 NHL lockout on January 19, 2013, against the Vancouver Canucks. He registered his first NHL point on November 8, 2013, an assist on a Andrew Cogliano goal in a game against the Buffalo Sabres. Rakell scored his first NHL goal in a Stanley Cup playoff game against goaltender Kari Lehtonen of the Dallas Stars on April 25, 2014.
Rakell has represented Sweden three times at the IIHF World U20 Championship, in 2011, 2012 and 2013, placing second, first and fourth, respectively.
The Anaheim Ducks are an American professional ice hockey team based in Anaheim, California. They are members of the Pacific Division of the Western Conference of the National Hockey League (NHL). Since their inception, the Ducks have played their home games at the Honda Center.
The club was founded in 1993 by The Walt Disney Company as the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim, a name based on the 1992 film The Mighty Ducks. Disney sold the franchise in 2005 to Henry and Susan Samueli, who along with General Manager Brian Burke, changed the name of the team to the Anaheim Ducks before the 2006–07 season. The Ducks have made the playoffs 11 times and won four Pacific Division titles (2006–07, 2012–13, 2013–14, and 2014–15), two Western Conference championships (2002–03 and 2006–07) and one Stanley Cup (2006–07).
Hampus Lindholm (born January 20, 1994) is a Swedish professional ice hockey defenceman currently playing for the Anaheim Ducks of the NHL. He began his ice hockey career with Jonstorps IF and has previously played with Rögle BK.
In 2009–10, Lindholm played for the Jonstorps U20 team, scoring three points (one goal and two assists) in three games. The following year, he played 39 games for Rögle BK U20, providing four assists.
In 2011–12, Lindholm began his professional career with Rögle, playing 20 games and scoring four points, Lindholm was also named the U20 Super Elit League's Best Defenseman. Lindholm was a top prospect who was ranked fourth among European skaters by the NHL Central Scouting Bureau, and he was selected sixth overall in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft by the Anaheim Ducks. He was considered by some to be a sleeper pick for the draft, with Rob Brodie comparing Lindholm to Erik Karlsson and Mika Zibanejad, two other Swedish prospects who rose sharply in the Draft.
