Ranchi: The board meeting of the Ranchi Municipal Corporation on Saturday witnessed heated debates on the worsening water crisis in several wards.
The situation came under control after a phone call to urban development minister CP Singh, who assured financial assistance and directed RMC officials to inform him how much money would be required to solve the water crisis.
"The minister has assured financial help, but as an immediate step we will start supplying water through tankers from Monday to the previously identified 140 areas where the crisis is severe. Also, we have asked the councillors to provide a list of other vulnerable areas," said deputy mayor Sanjiv Vijayavargiya.
The RMC board on Saturday also approved a modified budget of Rs 1,811 crore for the financial year 2016-17, besides clearing the proposal for a parking zone on MG Road. tnn
