The great Blu Mankuma, an underrated yet immensely talented actor, as Captain Joe Reese in a scene from FK episode "Black Buddha part 1" S03 E01. Reese is definitely my favorite captain out of the 3. I simply love how Blu delivers his lines! As fans know, FK was completely revamped (unintentional pun, yet so à propos here) and a couple of main characters were written off & replaced by several newcomers. It's like watching a different show, which initially can be a bit of a shock when you've come to know & get attached to the original characters and the talents behind them. But for the most part, the new cast was incredibly talented & had undeniable chemistry; the stories maintained the same high caliber writing and the production continued to excel and deliver outstanding episodes. Thankfully Fred Mollin stayed with the series, which really helped accept the transition and maintain the familiar thrilling atmosphere of the original seasons. For as much as the original cast was missed, it was easy to get attached to the new characters as they were well written, intriguing and superbly portrayed by this new addition of phenomenal Canadian talent. (Even though Blu Mankuma is American, just like Ben Bass, he resides & works exclusively in Canada). It's truly a pity that there was no second season with the new cast (which would have been FK S04) but the production definitely delivered and gave us a memorable finale; where so many TV shows end or are canceled leaving both characters and audiences "hanging", the writers & producers concluded the series by going seemingly where no other show had been and, love it or hate it, giving us perfect closure. It was heart-wrenching and simply sublime!

Mankuma was born in Seattle, Washington. Among Mankuma's film credits are Tin Man, The Russia House, Another Stakeout, Harmony Gate, Bird on a Wire, Harmony Cats, Cadence, Look Who's Talking, Connor's War, Shoot to Kill, Blacktop, Eureka, and 2012. Television credits include continuing roles on M.A.N.T.I.S., Forever Knight, Madison, Love on the Run (1994), Street Justice, Mom P.I., 21 Jump Street, Huckleberry Finn and His Friends, RoboCop and his role as host of the seven-part series Diversity. Individual television episodic credits include the series The X-Files, The Outer Limits, Supernatural, Kung Fu, North of 60, The Round Table, Hat Squad, Scene of The Crime, Booker, Wiseguy, MacGyver, Walt Disney's Davy Crockett, Blue's Folly, Stargate SG-1, Jack, and Fringe.

Thankfully Fred Mollin stayed with the series, which really helped accept the transition and maintain the familiar thrilling atmosphere of the original seasons. For as much as the original cast was missed, it was easy to get attached to the new characters as they were well written, intriguing and superbly portrayed by this new addition of phenomenal Canadian talent. (Even though Blu Mankuma is American, just like Ben Bass, he resides & works exclusively in Canada). It's truly a pity that there was no second season with the new cast (which would have been FK S04) but the production definitely delivered and gave us a memorable finale; where so many TV shows end or are canceled leaving both characters and audiences "hanging", the writers & producers concluded the series by going seemingly where no other show had been and, love it or hate it, giving us perfect closure. It was heart-wrenching and simply sublime!

He also played the drummer in George Michael's music video for "Kissing a Fool".
During the day, Boynton Jr. runs a website development company called Infopower Technologies, and teaches computer skills in adult education at the University of British Columbia. But as night falls, the rhythm takes over.
