Wonderful Tony Bennett & The Ralph Sharon Trio perform at "The Barns of Wolf Trap Gala", (Joe LaBarbera on drums & Paul Langosch on bass). TRY to ignore the tuning interference in first song - ALL GOOD after that. I LOVE Ralph Sharon's style of piano playing. A little about him (thanks to Wikipedia): In 1957 Ralph became Bennett's pianist and musical director. Ralph told Tony that a career singing sweet saccharine songs like "Blue Velvet" wouldn't last long and encouraged him to focus even more on his jazz inclinations. By 1958 Ralph was recording with Tony, the start of a more than 40 years working relationship as Tony's man behind the music on many Grammy winning studio recordings, and touring with Tony for many years. Ralph is now 88 years old and continues to perform. He and the Ralph Sharon Trio perform frequently at Dazzle Restaurant & Lounge in Denver, Colorado. On Tony's 85th birthday concert in London there was a vacuum re. the piano accompaniment although the fellow was very proficient, but he tended to overpower Bennett... still, a wonderful concert.
