Gordium

Gordium (Greek: Γόρδιον, Górdion; Turkish: Gordiyon) was the capital city of ancient Phrygia. It was located at the site of modern Yassıhüyük, about 70–80 km southwest of Ankara (capital of Turkey), in the immediate vicinity of Polatlı district. The site was excavated by Gustav Körte and Alfred Körte in 1900 and then by the University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology, under the direction of Rodney S. Young, between 1950 and 1973. Excavations have continued at the site under the auspices of the University of Pennsylvania Museum with an international team.

Gordium lies where the ancient road between Lydia and Assyria/Babylonia crossed the Sangarius river.

History

In the 12th century BC, Gordium was settled by Brygians who had migrated from southeastern Europe. During the 9th and 8th centuries BC, the city grew into the capital of a kingdom that controlled much of Asia Minor west of the river Halys. The kings of Phrygia built large tombs near Gordium called tumuli, which consist of artificial mounds constructed over burial chambers. There are about one hundred of them, covering both cremations and inhumations. In the 8th century, the lower city and the area to the north of the citadel was surrounded by a circuit wall with regularly spaced towers.

Knight Online

Knight Online is an MMORPG developed by MGame Corporation.

The original game is hosted by MGame in Korea, and requires players to enter their Korean resident registration numbers to register. There are three other official versions: Knight Online Xross (usually called "JPKO") is hosted in Japan, while Knight Online World (usually called "USKO") is hosted in the United States, and Knight Online Europe (usually called "EUKO") . All of these versions accept registration from any location.

Knight Online is officially free-to-play (although to connect to the utmost of the servers during prime time, paid premium is required), but there are some features that must be paid for. In addition, there is an in-game Powerup Shop or Store which contains various items that one can purchase such as premium packages. Paid services include exclusive items and Premiums which are a limited-time subscription providing many benefits.

Gameplay

The player controls a virtual character. After connecting to a server for the first time, players must take sides, choosing either El Morad or Karus. The two nations are equivalent but have different appearance. Once the nation is decided, it's a difficult and expensive process to switch nations. To create a character, the player must choose (depending on the nation) a race, from Barbarian, male/female El Moradian, and the four Tuarek races that inhabit Karus. Following that, a class must be selected for the character along with a few appearance options. Finally the character is named and given its first 10 Stat Points.
