- Changing Climate: Do the Timorese need to worry about it?
  
  “One of the top 10 countries most at risk of disaster… Annual mean temperature consistently increasing at a rate of about 0.0160C per year Sea level rising at the average rate of 6-9 mm per year, and in over 100 years the sea level rise may reach 76cm Pacific Ocean acidification increasing in Timor-Leste’s water Agriculture sector contributes to 65% of the total national greenhouse gas emissions Vulnerable communities have limited COPing mechanisms and adaptive capacities El Niño worsening water availability and causing intensified water scarcity, food security and health impacts”

- PNTL Public Relation Unit organized a meeting to enhance the capacity of the members of PNTL at Baucau District

  UNDP in partnership with the Ministry of State Administration and the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Environment, officially commissioned one of several projects that were implemented in 2015 by the SSRI project through PDIM (Integrated Municipality Development Planning previously PDID) framework supporting local communities to construct more sustainable and climate resilient rural infrastructure.

- Knowledge on disaster risk management prevents damages and loses of lives and livelihoods
  
  Almost every year Timor-Leste faces disasters such as heavy rain, floods, landslides and strong winds causing damage to homes, road, bridges and other infrastructure, and even causing casualties. This happens because people do not have adequate knowledge in identifying where to build a house and how to build it strong and safe to resist a disaster. UNDP in partnership with the Ministry of Social Solidarity conducted Training of Trainers (ToT) in Liquiça and Bobonaro municipalities on the 14th to the 18th of December 2015.

- Innovation to save lives with Frontline SMS
  
  In the midst of natural disaster, prompt information sharing and warning can save many lives. As Timor-Leste is subjected to unpredictable extreme weather events and the associated natural disasters and climate induced risks, an Early Warning System (EWS) using Frontline SMS was established to help the community and the National Disaster Operation Center (NDOC) to get and/or receive real time data related to disaster. Thus, helps the government to better plan and response to disaster events.

- UNDP Brokers Partnership between Oe-Cusse SAR and ZEESM and Blue Ventures for Promoting EcoTourism
  
  The Authority of the Oé-Cusse Ambeno Special Administrative Region (SAR) and the Special Economic Zones of Social Market Economy of Timor-Leste (ZEESM TL) and Blue Ventures, an award-winning social enterprise specializing in marine research, ecotourism and sustainable fisheries, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in Dili. The MOU, which will be in place for five years, was signed by Dr. Mari Alkatiri, President of the Authority of the Oé-Cusse Ambeno SAR and ZEESM TL and Mr. Richard Nimmo, Managing Director of Blue Ventures.

- Celebration of the very first harvest at the newly constructed Atabae Salt Farm
  
  Monday, 24 November 2015. After applying the new and safe salt production method in June this year, the Atabae Salt Farmers had harvested better quality of salt for the first time. What We Do
