The Mauser C96 is one of the best known self loading pistols of the World. The Red 9 (9mm Luger version, manufactured during the 1st World War) is quite rare. Watch my short film about its history, system, tactical use, disassembly - reassembly with some accuracy tests 25 - 40 m. Hope you'll enjoy it! MAUSER C96 Broomhandle in 7.63×25mm Mauser cartridge. The Mauser C96 (Construktion 96) is a semi-automatic pistol that was originally produced by German arms manufacturer Mauser from 1896 to 1937. Unlicensed copies of the gun were also manufactured in Spain and China in the first half of the 20th century. The distinctive characteristics of the C96 are the integral box magazine in front of the trigger, the long barrel, the wooden shoulder stock which can double as a holster or carrying case and a grip shaped like the handle of a broom. The grip earned the gun the nickname "Broomhandle" in the English-speaking world because of its round wooden handle, and in China the C96 was nicknamed the "box cannon" (Chinese: 盒子炮; pinyin: hézipào) because of its square-shaped internal magazine and the fa...
Very famous pistol and very awesome. Seen in movies and video games, the battlefields of WW1 and WW2, and in the hands of collectors the world round. Quite arguably the most famous handgun in the world. Han Solo's Blaster pistol in Star Wars was made from a shortened "Bolo" model.
The C96 "Broomhandle" is truly a thing a beauty. This 120 year old design comes from an era when it took a factory staffed by hundreds to create a single pistol, all having made a single pass on a single component. The C96 is an amalgamation of 34 parts working in perfect harmony that to this day deserves to be revered. Invented by the Feederle brothers, this classic handgun is a piece that everyone should fire once. Bonus full auto footage of an M712 "Schnellfeuer". I've been promising this range video for a while now, and here it is. We took all three configurations of the C96 Broomhandle Mauser - a pistol, a carbine, and a machine pistol - out to the range for some comparisons. Here is an old Mauser C96 (Construktion 96) Broomhandle chambered in the very uncommon 7.63x25. The Mauser Broomhandles were invented far before their time in 1895, and are very unique in many ways. This is an iconic piece for many collectors. The specifics of these are nearly a specialty in their own, and valuation is challenging. This particular piece is in excellent shape, and all numbers are matching on it. If anyone has more info on this Mauser in particular, I'd be interested in hearing it. Star Wars The Force Awakens fun fact: This is the gun that was converted into the blaster Han Solo used!
http://jamesdjulia.com/item/2203-373/ Early in the production of the C96 Mauser, the company tried a variety of different configurations of the pistol, to see what would be popular and sell well. Most of these were abandoned by about 1902, when the design was more or less standardized to the version were are familiar with today. One of the early experiments was with a 20-round fixed magazine, or which 188 were made. This was fed using two 10-round stripper clips, and that seems to have been the biggest problem with it. According to some folks who have used these, the magazines is quite difficult to fully load, making the 10-shot version rather more practical. http://www.forgottenweapons.com Theme music by Dylan Benson - http://dbproductioncompany.webs.com
