Charles Montgomery "Monty" Burns, usually referred to as Mr. Burns, is a recurring character in the animated television series The Simpsons, and is voiced by Harry Shearer. Burns is the evil owner of the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant and is also Homer Simpson's boss. He is assisted at almost all times by Waylon Smithers, his loyal and sycophantic aide, adviser, confidant and secret admirer.
Although originally conceived as a one-dimensional, recurring villain who might occasionally enter the Simpsons' lives and wreak some sort of havoc, Burns' popularity has led to his repeated inclusion in episodes. Modeled after Jacob Rothschild while having David Rockefeller's speech patterns; Mr. Burns is a stereotype of corporate America in his unquenchable desire to increase his own wealth and power, inability to remember his employees' names (including Homer's, despite frequent interactions – which has become something of a recurrent joke) and lack of concern for their safety and well-being. Reflecting his advanced age, Burns is given to expressing dated humor, making references to Jazz Age popular culture, and aspiring to apply obsolete technology to everyday life. Conan O'Brien has called Mr. Burns his favorite character to write for, due to his arbitrarily old age and extreme wealth.
The Simpsons is an American animated sitcom created by Matt Groening for the Fox Broadcasting Company. The series is a satirical depiction of a middle class American lifestyle epitomized by the Simpson family, which consists of Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa, and Maggie. The show is set in the fictional town of Springfield and parodies American culture, society, television, and many aspects of the human condition.
The family was conceived by Groening shortly before a solicitation for a series of animated shorts with the producer James L. Brooks. Groening created a dysfunctional family and named the characters after members of his own family, substituting Bart for his own name. The shorts became a part of The Tracey Ullman Show on April 19, 1987. After a three-season run, the sketch was developed into a half-hour prime time show and was an early hit for Fox, becoming the network's first series to land in the Top 30 ratings in a season (1989–90).
Since its debut on December 17, 1989, the series has broadcast 587 episodes. It is currently airing its 27th season. The Simpsons is the longest-running American sitcom, the longest-running American animated program, and in 2009 it surpassed Gunsmoke as the longest-running American scripted primetime television series. The Simpsons Movie, a feature-length film, was released in theaters worldwide on July 27, 2007, and grossed over $527 million. On May 4, 2015, the series was officially renewed for seasons twenty-seven (2015–16) and twenty-eight (2016–17), consisting of 22 episodes each.

Animation Domination was an animated programming block which originally aired from May 1, 2005 until September 21, 2014 on the Fox network. The block aired on Sunday evenings through the entirety of that night's primetime schedule (unless preempted, usually by sports telecasts).
Animation Domination debuted on Fox on May 1, 2005, in time for the last sweeps period of the 2004–05 television season. The first program to originate on the block was American Dad!, although its "pilot" aired as a Super Bowl lead-out program on February 6, 2005. Rounding out the Animation Domination lineup alongside American Dad! were The Simpsons (the longest-running cartoon on Fox and the network's first primetime animated series, which predated the lineup by 16 years), King of the Hill (which predated the lineup by eight years) and Family Guy (which predated the lineup by six years, and was revived as a series three years after its 2002 cancellation as a result of newfound popularity through reruns on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim lineup and sales of the first, second, and third season episodes on DVD).

Pastor Mark Burns has been a very powerful voice for Donald Trump on the campaign trail, but he got rather pissed off when CNN’s Victor Blackwell confronted him about exaggerations in his biography. A member of Kappa Alpha Psi told CNN that the noticed Burns claimed to have been part of the predominantly black fraternity, but he could find no record of him being part of it. Burns said he “started the process” of joining and claimed to Blackwell that the screengrab the KAP member took must have been “manipulated” in some way. Blackwell also confronted Burns about his claims that he served in the Army Reserves and that he graduated from North Greenville University (he apparently attended for one semester). This is what ensued: BURNS: I asked you just a moment ago as we were opening up....
