Kyodo News (共同通信社, Kyōdō Tsūshinsha^?) is a nonprofit cooperative news agency based in Minato, Tokyo. It was established in November 1945 and it distributes news to almost all newspapers, and radio and television networks in Japan. The newspapers using its news have about 50 million subscribers. K. K. Kyodo News is Kyodo News' business arm, established in 1972. The subdivision Kyodo News International, founded in 1982, provides over 200 reports to international news media and is located in Rockefeller Center, New York.

Their online news site is in Japanese, Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), Korean, and English.

The agency employs over 1,000 journalists and photographers, and maintains news exchange agreements with over 70 international media outlets.

Satoshi Ishikawa is the news agency's president.

Kyodo News is the only remaining news agency to transmit news via radiofax. It broadcasts complete newspapers in Japanese and English, often at 60 lines per minute instead of the more normal 120 because of the greater complexity of written Japanese.

angel Kyodo williams (born December 2, 1969) is an African American//mixed race writer, ordained Zen priest and the author of Being Black: Zen and the Art of Living with Fearlessness and Grace (ISBN 0-670-89268-8), published by Viking Press in 2000. Called "the most vocal and most intriguing African-American Buddhist in America" by Library Journal, she is the Spiritual Director of the meditation-based New Dharma Community and founder of the Center for Transformative Change (formerly Center for Urban Peace in Oakland) in Berkeley, California and is also credited with developing fearlessMeditation, fearlessYoga and Warrior Spirit Training. Her given buddhist name, Kyodo, means "Way of Teaching."

Williams was raised by her firefighter father in Queens and Brooklyn and then by her mother in Tribeca, Manhattan after her parents separated. She attended junior high school in Chinatown, New York, a school that was ninety percent ethnic Chinese, high school in Chelsea and attended Nazareth College in Rochester, NY.
