One woman’s efforts to rescue her lover from a brutal cult, set to take her on a journey into the heart of darkness in Florian Gallenberger’s nerve-jangling thriller, The Colony. Set amidst the Chilean coup of 1973, The Colony begins by depicting the masses who are out on the street, protesting against General Pinochet. Amongst them are Daniel (Daniel Brühl – Rush, Captain America: Civil War) and Lena (Emma Watson – Harry Potter, The Bling Ring), a young couple who, like many others, get arrested by Pinochet’s secret police for producing propaganda against the regime. Following his arrest, Daniel finds himself trapped in a secret interrogation camp located beneath the infamous Colonia Dignidad; a German sect under the leadership of the notorious, charismatic and unflinching Paul Schäfer (Michael Nyqvist – The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, John Wick). Presenting itself as a charitable mission, the Colonia is in fact a place of brutality and terror that nobody has ever escaped from. Desperate to rescue her boyfriend, Lena infiltrates the cult and witnesses the true darkness of Schäfer’s regime before she attempts a dramatic escape that puts both their lives on the line.
Also starring Julian Ovenden (Downton Abbey, Person Of interest), The Colony places a microscope over one of history’s lesser known atrocities and also gives fans the chance to see an incendiary Watson as she’s never been seen before. Filmed with input from real-life survivors of the Colonia Dignidad, Florian Gallenberger’s thriller is a sobering, taut must-see this summer.

What would you do in the wake of a global catastrophe? How would you find food? Water? Shelter?
The Colony is a controlled experiment to see exactly what it would take to survive and rebuild under these circumstances. For 10 weeks, a group of 10 volunteers, whose backgrounds and expertise represent a cross-section of modern society, are isolated in an urban environment outside Los Angeles and tasked with creating a livable society.
With no electricity from the grid, no running water and no communication with the outside world, all the volunteers have to work with are their skills and whatever tools and supplies they can scavenge from their surroundings.
Experts from the fields of homeland security, engineering and psychology have helped design the world of The Colony to reflect elements from both real-life disasters and models of what the future could look like after a global viral outbreak.
Over the course of the 10-week experiment, the Colonists must work together to build the necessities of survival, such as a water-filtration system, a battery bank that powered their electricity, a solar cooker, a shower system and a greenhouse and even some niceties (a coffee maker!).

Laurence Fishburne
Laurence John Fishburne III (born July 30, 1961) is an American actor, playwright, director and producer. He is perhaps best known for his roles as Morpheus in The Matrix trilogy, Jason "Furious" Styles in the 1991 drama film Boyz n the Hood and Tyrone "Mr. Clean" Miller in the 1979 war film Apocalypse Now.
Fishburne became the first African-American to portray Othello in a motion picture by a major studio when he appeared in Oliver Parker's 1995 film adaptation of the Shakespeare play. For his portrayal of Ike Turner in What's Love Got to Do With It, he was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actor. He won a Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Play for his performance in Two Trains Running (1992), and an Emmy Award for Drama Series Guest Actor for his performance in TriBeCa (1993).
Fishburne starred in several cult classics, including Deep Cover and King of New York. From 2008 to 2011, he starred as Dr. Raymond Langston on the CBS crime drama CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and from 2013 to 2015 starred as Special Agent Jack Crawford on the NBC thriller series Hannibal. In 2013, he portrayed Perry White in the Zack Snyder-directed Superman reboot Man of Steel and in 2016 will reprise his role in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

The Colony (2013)
PlotIn the future, after global warming, Earth is covered by ice and snow in an Ice Age. The survivors live in facilities underground named Colonies. When people from Colony 5 release a distress signal, the leader of Colony 7 Briggs organizes an expedition with Sam and Graydon to investigate what has happened to their acquaintances. Briggs leaves the scientist Kai in charge of the group, disappointing his former friend Mason that expected to be assigned to the position. They walk for two days to reach the facility where fifty persons live and they find only one survivor that is scared to death locked in a room. Soon they learn that a savage group of cannibals have slaughtered the colonists. Briggs and Sam manage to escape but the group hunts them down. Briggs sacrifices his life to blow up a bridge and slow down the group while Sam heads to Colony 7. When Sam arrives, Mason has taken the power and cuffs him, and does not believe on his words. Soon the cannibals arrive and the group has to fight to survive.

One woman’s efforts to rescue her lover from a brutal cult, set to take her on a journey into the heart of darkness in Florian Gallenberger’s nerve-jangling thriller, The Colony. Set amidst the Chilean coup of 1973, The Colony begins by depicting the masses who are out on the street, protesting against General Pinochet. Amongst them are Daniel (Daniel Brühl – Rush, Captain America: Civil War) and Lena (Emma Watson – Harry Potter, The Bling Ring), a young couple who, like many others, get arrested by Pinochet’s secret police for producing propaganda against the regime. Following his arrest, Daniel finds himself trapped in a secret interrogation camp located beneath the infamous Colonia Dignidad; a German sect under the leadership of the notorious, charismatic and unflinching Paul Schäfer (Michael Nyqvist – The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, John Wick). Presenting itself as a charitable mission, the Colonia is in fact a place of brutality and terror that nobody has ever escaped from. Desperate to rescue her boyfriend, Lena infiltrates the cult and witnesses the true darkness of Schäfer’s regime before she attempts a dramatic escape that puts both their lives on the line.
Also starring Julian Ovenden (Downton Abbey, Person Of interest), The Colony places a microscope over one of history’s lesser known atrocities and also gives fans the chance to see an incendiary Watson as she’s never been seen before. Filmed with input from real-life survivors of the Colonia Dignidad, Florian Gallenberger’s thriller is a sobering, taut must-see this summer.

For 10 weeks, a group of 10 volunteers, whose backgrounds and expertise represent a cross-section of modern society, are isolated in an urban environment outside Los Angeles and tasked with creating a livable society.
With no electricity from the grid, no running water and no communication with the outside world, all the volunteers have to work with are their skills and whatever tools and supplies they can scavenge from their surroundings.
Experts from the fields of homeland security, engineering and psychology have helped design the world of The Colony to reflect elements from both real-life disasters and models of what the future could look like after a global viral outbreak.
Over the course of the 10-week experiment, the Colonists must work together to build the necessities of survival, such as a water-filtration system, a battery bank that powered their electricity, a solar cooker, a shower system and a greenhouse and even some niceties (a coffee maker!).

Samuel L. Jackson Eviscerates Anchor Who Confused Him With Laurence Fishburne Live On Air. "We don't all look alike!" Jackson told the KTLA anchor.
Samuel L. Jackson appeared on Los Angeles morning show KTLA on Monday to talk about his new film, Robocop, but promotion was the last thing on the actor's mind after anchor Sam Rubin confused him with Laurence Fishburne.
While rattling off his recent list of professional accomplishments, Rubin included a Super Bowl commercial. But Jackson didn't actually appear in a Super Bowl commercial last weekend... Laurence Fishburne did.
"I'm not Laurence Fishburne," Jackson exclaimed after a painfully long silence. "We don't all look alike! We may be black and famous, but we don't all look alike!"
A clearly embarrassed Rubin, realizing his error, apologized and tried to steer the conversation back to the movie. But Jackson wasn't having it.
Rubin: "Let's talk about Robocop."
Jackson: "Oh, hell no! Really? Really?"
Jackson then proceeded to further distinguish himself from Fishburne. "There's more than one black guy doing commercials. I'm the 'What's in your wallet?' black guy," Jackson said, referring to his Capital One commercials. "He's the car black guy — Morgan Freeman is the other credit card black guy. You only hear his voice though, so you probably won't confuse him with Laurence Fishburne."
Jackson then drove his point home, saying, "I've actually never done a McDonald's or Kentucky Fried Chicken commercial. I know that's surprising."
