Johannes Gensfleisch, genannt Gutenberg (* um 1400 in Mainz; † 3. Februar 1468 ebenda), gilt als Erfinder des Buchdrucks mit beweglichen Metalllettern (Mobilletterndruck) in Europa (in Korea war dieser bereits lange vorher erfunden worden[1]) und der Druckerpresse.
Die Verwendung von beweglichen Lettern revolutionierte die herkömmlichen Methoden der Buchproduktion und löste in Europa eine Medienrevolution aus. Gutenbergs Buchdruck breitete sich schnell in Europa und später in der ganzen Welt aus (siehe Ausbreitung des Buchdrucks) und wird als ein Schlüsselelement der Renaissance betrachtet. Insbesondere sein Hauptwerk, die Gutenberg-Bibel, wird allgemein für ihre hohe ästhetische und technische Qualität gerühmt.
Zu Gutenbergs zahlreichen Beiträgen zur Buchdruckerkunst gehören neben der Verwendung von beweglichen Lettern auch die Entwicklung einer besonders praktikablen Legierung aus Zinn, Blei und Antimon[2], einer ölhaltigen Tinte und eines Handgießinstruments. Zudem erfand er die Druckerpresse. Das besondere Verdienst Gutenbergs liegt darin, alle Komponenten zu einem effizienten Produktionsprozess zusammengeführt zu haben, der erstmals die maschinelle Massenproduktion von Büchern ermöglichte. 1997 wurde Gutenbergs Buchdruck vom US-Magazin Time-Life zur bedeutendsten Erfindung des zweiten Jahrtausends gewählt, und 1999 kürte das amerikanische A&E; Network den Mainzer zum „Mann des Jahrtausends

Stephen John Fry (born 24 August 1957) is an English actor, screenwriter, author, playwright, journalist, poet, comedian, television presenter, film director, and a director of Norwich City Football Club.
After a troubled childhood and adolescence, during which he was expelled from a number of schools and eventually spent three months in prison for credit card fraud, he was able to secure a place at Queens' College, Cambridge, where he studied English Literature.
He first came to public attention in the 1981 Cambridge Footlights Revue presentation "The Cellar Tapes", which also included Hugh Laurie, Emma Thompson and Tony Slattery. With Hugh Laurie, as the comedy double act Fry and Laurie, he co-wrote and co-starred in A Bit of Fry & Laurie, and took the role of Jeeves (with Laurie playing Wooster) in Jeeves and Wooster.
As an actor, Fry played the lead in the film Wilde, was Melchett in the BBC television series Blackadder, starred as the title character Peter Kingdom in the ITV series Kingdom, has a recurring guest role as Dr. Gordon Wyatt on the Fox crime series Bones and appeared as rogue TV host Gordon Deitrich in the dystopian thriller V For Vendetta. He has also written and presented several documentary series including the 2008 television series Stephen Fry in America, which saw him travelling across all 50 US states. Since 2003 he has been the host of the quiz show QI.

"Gesucht entdeckt erfunden" ist eine von 1997/1998 erstmals in Deutschland ausgestrahlte Kinder-Wissenschaftshistoriensendung, welche in Japan zwischen 1983 und 1985 unter dem Titel "Miimu iroiro yume no tabi" produziert und ausgestrahlt wurde. Die Verwendung von beweglichen Lettern revolutionierte die herkömmlichen Methoden der Buchproduktion und löste in Europa eine Medienrevolution aus. Gutenbergs Buchdruck breitete sich schnell in Europa und später in der ganzen Welt aus (siehe Ausbreitung des Buchdrucks) und wird als ein Schlüsselelement der Renaissance betrachtet. Insbesondere sein Hauptwerk, die Gutenberg-Bibel, wird allgemein für ihre hohe ästhetische und technische Qualität gerühmt.
Zu Gutenbergs zahlreichen Beiträgen zur Buchdruckerkunst gehören neben der Verwendung von beweglichen Lettern auch die Entwicklung einer besonders praktikablen Legierung aus Zinn, Blei und Antimon[2], einer ölhaltigen Tinte und eines Handgießinstruments. Johannes Gutenberg invented the mechanical movable type printing press in 1439. The first Gutenberg Bible was completed in 1455. His invention, however, was more than just a faster way to print books. It also fueled a revolution, which marked the beginning of the end of the spiritual dark ages.

"Gesucht entdeckt erfunden" ist eine von 1997/1998 erstmals in Deutschland ausgestrahlte Kinder-Wissenschaftshistoriensendung, welche in Japan zwischen 1983 und 1985 unter dem Titel "Miimu iroiro yume no tabi" produziert und ausgestrahlt wurde. In jeder Folge erklärte der Computergeist Lexy - das rosa Vich mit nervtötender Stimme und Händen aus Haaren - zwei Kindern innerhalb einer Rahmenhandlung in naher Zukunft wissenschaftshistorische Themen.
Folge 4:
"Felix meint mal wieder, er wisse alles besser. Er versucht sich an Kims Kartoffeldruck. So recht will das aber nicht klappen, denn seine Buchstaben bleiben spiegelverkehrt. Ist gar nicht so leicht mit dem Drucken, sagen sich die beiden. Wie funktioniert das eigentlich und wer hat das erfunden? Lexi weiß wie immer Rat. Die Computerhexe erklärt erst einmal, wie früher gedruckt und Papier hergestellt wurde. Schon die alten Ägypter kannten eine Art des Papiers, das Papyrus, und die Chinesen konnten bereits im 9. Jahrhundert drucken. Die eigentliche Buchdruckkunst wurde aber in Deutschland erfunden."
