This video is property of Train_PlaneHub, "RachaelMatt" 1080p HD! On Thursday 24th September a case of being in the right place at the right time lead us to catch our first look and ride upon the first ever refurbished GWR HST set! After hearing that it was operating the 10:00 from Paddington to Paignton via Bristol we slightly altered our plans to get a ride on it. At the time of filming this was the only refurbished out, so it was very unique and certainly turned a few heads at Reading and Bristol! Personally I think the new livery looks great and nice to see the Great Western railway returning to Green. The days of the blue & pink FGW sets are now numbered! Look out for more of these beautiful GWR sets out & about in the future! Leave me a comment, what do you think of the new GWR ...

Here is an archive feature film recreating the sights and sounds of the old Great Western Railway network in its heyday. The filming locations were at the Didcot Railway Center & the Severn Valley Railway. As I am a railway worker in that particular territory of the UK railway network I find this film very fascinating.

The western segment of the Great Western Trail in Illinois follows 17 miles of an abandoned railway corridor through DeKalb and Kane counties, between LeRoy Oakes Forest Preserve and the town of Sycamore. The Chicago Great Western Railway (later Chicago and North Western) was called the Corn Belt Route because it linked Chicago, Minneapolis, Omaha and Kansas City. Today, the crushed limestone trail provides access for cyclists, walkers and joggers, and in winter allows cross-country skiing and snowmobiling (the latter west of Wasco and when snows reach 4 inches). Horseback riding is allowed on another trail adjacent to the Great Western Trail only. The trail also includes shelters and rest areas. Ladies and Gentlemen, I present to you the FINAL episode of NWR Origins! My god I cannot say how glad I am to finally finish this series. I'm so glad I got the motivation to do it and your praise is so inspiring. ABOUT FUTURE NWR ORIGINS: There is a slight chance in the far future I may do a sequel series if I want to, but as for now THIS IS THE FINAL EPISODE. I had only planned to do 9 total, and I have done 9 total. I will not be doing ones for Percy, Toby, Duck (see Q&A; for reason why), Emily, etc.
