Jim Schembri is a senior writer at The Age who specialises in film, TV, pop culture, features, social commentary and the occasional pilfering of office stationery. But mostly film. Schembri began at The Age in 1984 on the pretext of being a full-time journalist, but chiefly because he found out it was a great way to see films for free, and before everybody else.
