В окрестностях Риги рядом с заводами, терминалами портов и таможенной зоной находятся Волери, неискоренимое село садовых участков со своими улицами, реками и неповторимой архитектурой. Тут проводят время дачники старожилы, их дети, молодёжь Болдераи, рыбаки, серьезные люди сюда приезжают решать вопросы и проблемы, а некоторые здесь находят укрытие от глаз общества.
Впечатления, оставшиеся после велоразведки сначала были записаны в песню, а подом поход на Волери повторился еще раз, с видеокамерой.

In Riga surroundings near the factories, port terminals and customs zone lies a village Voleri of tenacios small garden cottages with its own streets, rivers and unique architecture. Here you can meet cottagers -- veterans, their kids -- youth of Bolderaya, fishermen, guys who come here to do "business" and people who just avoid society.
The impressions hunted during veloride were put into a song and then trip to Voleri repeated again, with the camera.

La Gomera 08.08.2013: Im Hafen von Vueltas, Valle Gran Rey kommen seid einiger Zeit regelmaessig Rundkoepfige Stechrochen, Adlerrochen und Schmetterlingsrochen vorbei. Vueltas ist ein alter traditioneller Hafen in dem noch Fischerboote auf das Meer hinaus fahren. Oft werden Fische an der Landungstreppe ausgenommen. Der Beifang wird waehrend der Einfahrt in den Hafen ebenfalls ins Meer geworfen. Das hat dazu gefuehrt, das die Tiere auf Futtersuche immer wieder vorbeischauen. Ein kleiner Junge (Joel) hat sich daraus seinen Spass gemacht und zusammen mit seinen Freunden lockt er besonders einen grossen Stechrochen zur Treppe und fuettert ihn mit Fisch. Langsam entwickelt sich das Ganze zu einem kleinen morgentlichen Spektakel.

Vueltas es un antiguo puerto tradicional donde vela todavía barcos de pesca en el mar. A menudo se utilizan peces de las escaleras de aterrizaje. La captura incidental tirada también durante la entrada al puerto en el mar. Esto ha conducido a la caída de los animales alimentándose una y otra vez. Un niño pequeño (Joel) tiene su diversión de esto y junto a sus amigos atrae sobre todo una gran raya a las escaleras y lo alimenta con peces. Lentamente, el asunto se convirtió en un espectáculo mañana pequeña.

Vueltas is an old traditional harbour where sail still fishing boats on the sea. Fish of the landing stairs are often used. The bycatch thrown in also during the entrance to the port in the sea. That has led to the drop the animals foraging time and again. A little boy (Joel) has his fun from this and together with his friends he attracts especially a large stingray to the stairs and feeds him with fish. Slowly, the whole thing evolved into a small morning spectacle.

Vueltas é um antigo porto tradicional onde a vela ainda barcos de pesca no mar. Peixe das escadas de desembarque é usados frequentemente. A captura acidental lançada também durante a entrada do porto no mar. Que levou à queda os animais forrageando e outra vez. Um garotinho (Joel) tem sua diversão deste e juntamente com seus amigos, ele atrai especialmente uma grande arraia para as escadas e alimenta-lo com peixes. Lentamente, tudo evoluiu para um espetáculo de manhã pequeno.

Manta is a mid-sized city in Manabí Province, Ecuador. It is the second most populous city in the province, the fifth most populous in the country and, economically, the third most important city of Ecuador. Manta has existed since Pre-Columbian times. It was a trading post for the Mantas. According to the 2001 census, the city had 192,322 inhabitants. Its main economic activity is tuna fishing. Other economic activities include tourism and a chemical industry with products from cleaning supplies to oils and margarine.
Manta possesses the largest seaport in Ecuador. The port was used by Charles Marie de La Condamine upon his arrival in Ecuador when leading the French mission to measure the location of the equator in 1735. From Manta, Condamine started his trip inland towards Quito.
Manta has an international cargo airport, Eloy Alfaro International Airport and an important military base (known as Manta Air Base or Eloy Alfaro Air Base). Between 1999-2009 Manta Air Base was used by U.S. air forces to support anti-narcotics military operations and surveillance flights against Colombian drug trafficking cartels. The lease was not renewed by the Ecuadorean government.

La Gomera 08.08.2013: Im Hafen von Vueltas, Valle Gran Rey kommen seid einiger Zeit regelmaessig Rundkoepfige Stechrochen, Adlerrochen und Schmetterlingsrochen vorbei. Vueltas ist ein alter traditioneller Hafen in dem noch Fischerboote auf das Meer hinaus fahren. Oft werden Fische an der Landungstreppe ausgenommen. Der Beifang wird waehrend der Einfahrt in den Hafen ebenfalls ins Meer geworfen. Das hat dazu gefuehrt, das die Tiere auf Futtersuche immer wieder vorbeischauen. Ein kleiner Junge (Joel) hat sich daraus seinen Spass gemacht und zusammen mit seinen Freunden lockt er besonders einen grossen Stechrochen zur Treppe und fuettert ihn mit Fisch. Manta is a steel, flying roller coaster at SeaWorld Orlando. The attraction allows guests to encounter numerous species of ray before boarding a manta ray-shaped train that takes them on a 3,359-foot-long (1,024 m) roller coaster ride above the park, reaching top speeds of 56 miles per hour (90 km/h). Тут проводят время дачники старожилы, их дети, молодёжь Болдераи, рыбаки, серьезные люди сюда приезжают решать вопросы и проблемы, а некоторые здесь находят укрытие от глаз общества.
Впечатления, оставшиеся после велоразведки сначала были записаны в песню, а подом поход на Волери повторился еще раз, с видеокамерой.

In Riga surroundings near the factories, port terminals and customs zone lies a village Voleri of tenacios small garden cottages with its own streets, rivers and unique architecture. Here you can meet cottagers -- veterans, their kids -- youth of Bolderaya, fishermen, guys who come here to do "business" and people who just avoid society.
The impressions hunted during veloride were put into a song and then trip to Voleri repeated again, with the camera.

La Gomera 08.08.2013: Im Hafen von Vueltas, Valle Gran Rey kommen seid einiger Zeit regelmaessig Rundkoepfige Stechrochen, Adlerrochen und Schmetterlingsrochen vorbei. Vueltas ist ein alter traditioneller Hafen in dem noch Fischerboote auf das Meer hinaus fahren. Oft werden Fische an der Landungstreppe ausgenommen. Der Beifang wird waehrend der Einfahrt in den Hafen ebenfalls ins Meer geworfen. Das hat dazu gefuehrt, das die Tiere auf Futtersuche immer wieder vorbeischauen. Ein kleiner Junge (Joel) hat sich daraus seinen Spass gemacht und zusammen mit seinen Freunden lockt er besonders einen grossen Stechrochen zur Treppe und fuettert ihn mit Fisch. Langsam entwickelt sich das Ganze zu einem kleinen morgentlichen Spektakel.

Vueltas es un antiguo puerto tradicional donde vela todavía barcos de pesca en el mar. A menudo se utilizan peces de las escaleras de aterrizaje. La captura incidental tirada también durante la entrada al puerto en el mar. Esto ha conducido a la caída de los animales alimentándose una y otra vez. Un niño pequeño (Joel) tiene su diversión de esto y junto a sus amigos atrae sobre todo una gran raya a las escaleras y lo alimenta con peces. Lentamente, el asunto se convirtió en un espectáculo mañana pequeña.

La Gomera 08.08.2013: Im Hafen von Vueltas, Valle Gran Rey kommen seid einiger Zeit regelmaessig Rundkoepfige Stechrochen, Adlerrochen und Schmetterlingsrochen vorbei. Vueltas ist ein alter traditioneller Hafen in dem noch Fischerboote auf das Meer hinaus fahren. Oft werden Fische an der Landungstreppe ausgenommen. Der Beifang wird waehrend der Einfahrt in den Hafen ebenfalls ins Meer geworfen. Das hat dazu gefuehrt, das die Tiere auf Futtersuche immer wieder vorbeischauen. Ein kleiner Junge (Joel) hat sich daraus seinen Spass gemacht und zusammen mit seinen Freunden lockt er besonders einen grossen Stechrochen zur Treppe und fuettert ihn mit Fisch. Langsam entwickelt sich das Ganze zu einem kleinen morgentlichen Spektakel.

Vueltas es un antiguo puerto tradicional donde vela todavía barcos de pesca en el mar. A menudo se utilizan peces de las escaleras de aterrizaje. La captura incidental tirada también durante la entrada al puerto en el mar. Esto ha conducido a la caída de los animales alimentándose una y otra vez. Un niño pequeño (Joel) tiene su diversión de esto y junto a sus amigos atrae sobre todo una gran raya a las escaleras y lo alimenta con peces. Lentamente, el asunto se convirtió en un espectáculo mañana pequeña.

Vueltas is an old traditional harbour where sail still fishing boats on the sea. Fish of the landing stairs are often used. The bycatch thrown in also during the entrance to the port in the sea. That has led to the drop the animals foraging time and again. A little boy (Joel) has his fun from this and together with his friends he attracts especially a large stingray to the stairs and feeds him with fish. Slowly, the whole thing evolved into a small morning spectacle.

Vueltas é um antigo porto tradicional onde a vela ainda barcos de pesca no mar. Peixe das escadas de desembarque é usados frequentemente. A captura acidental lançada também durante a entrada do porto no mar. Que levou à queda os animais forrageando e outra vez. Um garotinho (Joel) tem sua diversão deste e juntamente com seus amigos, ele atrai especialmente uma grande arraia para as escadas e alimenta-lo com peixes. Lentamente, tudo evoluiu para um espetáculo de manhã pequeno.

Manta is a steel, flying roller coaster at SeaWorld Orlando. The attraction allows guests to encounter numerous species of ray before boarding a manta ray-shaped train that takes them on a 3,359-foot-long (1,024 m) roller coaster ride above the park, reaching top speeds of 56 miles per hour (90 km/h). Designed by Swiss firm Bolliger & Mabillard, Manta restrains riders in the prone position and features four inversions. The well-received attraction officially opened to the public on May 22, 2009. Their slogan is "Dive deep, fly high…".
SeaWorld Orlando revealed the concept that was to become Manta to a gathering of travel industry representatives and community leaders on April 2, 2008, although it had been in the planning stages for years. The exact specifications were not immediately revealed, but the park said it would be their largest single investment in an attraction, and that it would open sometime in 2009. The park also announced that the attraction would include a roller coaster, but that it would be more than just a roller coaster. Joseph Couceiro—vice president of sales and marketing—described the ride as "the next generation SeaWorld attraction" that would immerse guests in elements of marine life.
Artists' concepts of the new attraction were leaked onto the Internet in April 2008; however, SeaWorld officials would not confirm whether the images were accurate representations of the final design, but said that the roller coaster would have a gliding sensation. Searches of trademark applications uncovered an entry for the use of the term "Manta" as an amusement ride, and construction on a large site within the park had already begun. On May 29, 2008, park officials confirmed that the attraction would be named Manta, and announced additional details about the attraction.
Construction of the roller coaster track and attraction buildings began in September 2008. Superior Rigging & Erection built the supports and track. The ride's layout was completed in December 2008, and construction on other parts of the roller coaster continued into early 2009. SeaWorld began previewing the attraction in early May 2009, before it was officially opened on May 22.

Swimming With Manta Rays! - Fiji Day 3
Bula everyone! Our third day of Fiji brought us to Barefoot Island, a small but spectacular piece of the Yasawa Islands. We arrived to a warm welcome as they showed us to our "bures" which is a traditional Fijian dwelling. They were charming and affordable and in the middle of paradise - what more can a girl ask for?! After settling in, we snorkeled on our own for a bit before heading out with our guide to swim with manta rays. You heard me. MANTA. RAYS. They are doing some awesome research and conservation work with them out on Barefoot Island, and we were happy to experience the wonder of sharing the water with these amazing creatures. The Hawaiian Monk seal is considered a critically endangered animal with a population of approximately 1100. Manta is a mid-sized city in Manabí Province, Ecuador. It is the second most populous city in the province, the fifth most populous in the country. Manta has existed since Pre-Columbian times. It was a trading post for the Mantas. According to the 2001 census, the city had 192,322 inhabitants. Its main economic activity is tuna fishing. Other economic activities include tourism and a chemical industry with products from cleaning supplies to oils and margarine.
Manta possesses the largest seaport in Ecuador. The port was used by Charles Marie de La Condamine upon his arrival in Ecuador when leading the French mission to measure the location of the equator in 1735. From Manta, Condamine started his trip inland towards Quito.
Manta has an international cargo airport, Eloy Alfaro International Airport and an important military base (known as Manta Air Base or Eloy Alfaro Air Base). Between 1999-2009 Manta Air Base was used by U.S. air forces to support anti-narcotics military operations and surveillance flights against Colombian drug trafficking cartels. The lease was not renewed by the Ecuadorean government.

The beach is in the vicinity numerous hotels, retail stores, supermarkets, and banking facilities and automatic teller machines.

Barbasquillo, is a resort complex on Barbasquillo beach with a pool, sauna, gym and a disco. It has direct access to the an extensive beach. Horses are also available for riding on the beautiful beach.
La Tiñosa, is three kilometers long with sand dunes along with cactus ten feet(three meters) high, as well as varied wildlife species. This area is used for tourists rest and recreation. This beach is located a few kilometers from the parish San Mateo, and it is surrounded by mountains with a dry vegetation.
Linguique, is located 50 minutes from the center of Manta, at a distance of ten miles(18 kilometers). It has interesting rocky areas; place where snails, octopus and lobsters are plentiful. From the high point, it offers the visitors the possibility to observe the sea in all directions in a beautiful panoramic view. The people in this area are devoted to fishing and agriculture.
San Lorenzo, is located 22 miles west(28 kilometers) from Manta. It is known for its diverse rock formations, caves, marine birds and the Island of The Silver. The months of June to September you can take in the incredible sight of hunchback whales as they pass from the north to south. San Lorenzo's forest, with an extension of 50 hectares, was declared a protected area to avoid its deterioration as an ecological area. Popular activities include surfing, sunbathing and whale-watching. The climb to the light house is amazing and often accompanied by views of blue-footed boobies.
Santa Marianita, is in a rural area about 10 miles west of Manta. The perfect area for the capture of marine species. This beach of approximately 5 miles long inviting the visitors to enjoy the warm waters enjoying the tranquility of this area. Telephone services are available here.
San Mateo, is a thriving fishing village located on a cliff overlooking the sea 9 miles west of Manta. The locals are very friendly, and a bit tipsy after a good catch. San Mateo is also known among surfers as the longest wave in Ecuador. The competition is stiff out on the water; the locals can be territorial.
Tarqui, is a Park of the Shellfish where delicious local foods are prepared for your enjoyment. On this beach you can participate in recreational aquatic sports such as surfing, diving, sailing, body-boarding, and fishing, along with other outdoor sports such as beach soccer; and volleyball. It is located on the coastal highway midway between the airport and Manta. It can be identified by the large wooden fishing boats in various stages of construction. With the boat construction at this location, it has been nicknamed 'Noah's Ark Beach' by some tourists.

The Manta Resort’s recently opened Underwater Room however, is in a league of its own. Located in the Indian Ocean just off the coast of Tanzania, this floating glass cube allows guests to be completely immersed in the ocean where amongst the multitude of fish species that swim by, the star of the show is the manta ray. The project was originally conceived quite a fair distance from the exotic waters of the Indian Ocean, thousands of kilometers north of it to be exact, in Stockholm, Sweden, when in 2000, artist Mikael Genberg decided to work on a project that would make art more accessible. He created the ‘Utter Inn’ (‘Otter Inn’ in English), a single room that lies three meters below the surface of Lake Mälaren in Västerås. Operating like a human-size aquarium, the accommodations allows guests to spend an extended period of time deep within a marine environment and for the fish to behold human beings as though they themselves were in an aquarium - thus reversing the roles. Six years later, in 2006, Genberg Underwater Hotels was founded (Genberg’s aim is to create a series of original underwater rooms). The first opened in November 2013 on the idyllic Tanzanian island of Pemba and based on the ‘Utter Inn’, is the latest addition to the Manta Resort’s existing 16 rooms. Easily accessible from the Manta Resort, the Underwater Room is completely self-contained, and is divided into two parts, the underwater and the two-floor wooden deck above water level. The bedroom underwater is accessed only via a ladder leading down below the water’s surface. Featuring a comfortable double bed, it provides the perfect platform for watching life go by so close to the seabed. The hardwood deck above is equipped with toilets and a lounging area. Guests can sleep underwater, or under the stars if they choose to; rocked to sleep by the gentle lapping of the ocean. Looking up into the skies a whole other canvas than the one we’re used to, is revealed; completely free of light pollution, the Zanzibar archipelago guarantees a crystal clear blanket of stars every night. Spotlights placed underneath each windowpane below sea level light up the room’s immediate surroundings, creating a surreal luminous view of the marine life around it which is attracted by the light source whereby the creatures swimming past almost appear to be glowing. Completely isolated and utterly compelling, the experience allows guests to delve deeper into a marine world than any diving experience, to really live within a marine environment and to experience its unique rhythm and colours. It's a place of high biodiversity and nature lovers should feel in paradise. That's a good way to discover the indigenous communities of Ecuador and to eventually meet a local shaman. It's necessary to get to Lago Agrio to reach the reserve. Private transportation is made possible by the local accommodation, which is provided by eco-lodges.
The beaches in Ecuador are amazing, including: Salinas, Bahia de Caraquez, Manta, Crucita, San Jacinto, and San Clemente. They offer very inexpensive hotel accommodations, great food and friendly people. But there are also very upmarket establishments as well.

The 'wetter' season is usually between December - June , while the drier season runs from July - November.

Bula everyone! Our third day of Fiji brought us to Barefoot Island, a small but spectacular piece of the Yasawa Islands. We arrived to a warm welcome as they showed us to our "bures" which is a traditional Fijian dwelling. They were charming and affordable and in the middle of paradise - what more can a girl ask for?! After settling in, we snorkeled on our own for a bit before heading out with our guide to swim with manta rays. You heard me. MANTA. RAYS. They are doing some awesome research and conservation work with them out on Barefoot Island, and we were happy to experience the wonder of sharing the water with these amazing creatures.

Manta rays have unique spot patterns on their underside that can be used to identify individuals. Any Researchers can use pictures of individually identified manta rays to observe and manage regional populations.
Reef mantas (Manta alfredi) are found in all three of the world's major oceans but are most commonly encountered in the Indian Ocean and south Pacific. Locations: Hawaii, Australia, Komodo, Maldives, Yap, Palau, Bali, and Southern Mozambique.
The most found manta is the Manta birostris . It is found in all three of the world major oceans. This species is commonly encountered at offshore islands and seamounts. Locations: Southern Brazil, Ecuador, Thailand, Egypt, Southern Mozambique, and Mexico (Pacific Ocean).
Some divers have had the opportunity to see, touch and even swim with manta rays.
There are several dicing disciplines. The two major ones are Scuba diving and free diving.
Scuba diving is a diving discipline in which you swim underwater for extended periods of time using Self-Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus, hence the acronym SCUBA, or Scuba.
Scuba diving is an great way to see for example tropical coral diving sites with their colourful sea life, shipwrecks, caverns and caves.
Freediving, free-diving, or free diving is a form of underwater diving that relies on divers' ability to hold their breath until resurfacing rather than on the use of a breathing apparatus such as scuba gear. Recognised examples of freediving activities include traditional fishing.

RAREST MAMMAL in USA sighted with Manta Rays in Kona Hawaii! – A MUST SEE!
Waimanu - a Hawaiian Monk seal - was seen at the Manta Ray Night Dive a few times over the past few weeks, but always on the dark outskirts. Last weekend, we captured NEVER-BEFORE-SEEN footage of Waimanu swimming through the dive site while the Manta Rays were feeding on plankton.
The Hawaiian Monk seal is considered a critically endangered animal with a population of approximately 1100. Most Hawaiian Monk Seals live around the Northwestern Hawaiian Islands; only a few populate the main Hawaiian Islands. Three monk seals inhabit the Big Island and Waimanu – the only female - is currently pregnant.
Our team of seasoned underwater photographers Martina S. Wing, E. Ryan Leinbach and Adam L. Fram captured a truly breathtaking encounter.

The Seychelles are a group of 115 islands, only a few inhabited, in the Indian Ocean that lie off the coast of East Africa, northeast of Madagascar.
The Seychelles were disputed between France and Great Britain during the age of colonialism, with Britain ending up in control in 1814 after the Napoleonic Wars. The islands achieved independence in 1976; however, free elections did not occur until 1993. The politics of this island group remain in something of a state of flux, although this should not bother the tourist seeking a relaxing beach vacation. .

Visit the beaches. Many of the beaches are untouched by man's influence and are refreshingly uncrowded. They offer clear blue skies and a tranquility you will rarely find. A hike along the coastline from Beau Vallon to Anse Major will take about 1.5-2 hours and your reward will be a small deserted beach that's fit for a king. The scenery along the hike is breathtaking. Not all beaches are suitable for swimming depending on the time of year, due to the seasonal winds. Do not ignore warning signs indicating that a beach is hazardous for swimming, no matter how it seems to you.
Vallee de Mai is a national park and world heritage site, home to amazing flora and fauna, including the world's largest seed: the coco de mer. Entrance fee: Free for residents, 315 rupees (~20Euros) for foreigners (Sept 2010).

A hike along the coastline from Beau Vallon to Anse Major will take about 1.5-2 hours and your reward will be a small deserted beach that's fit for a king. The scenery along the hike is breathtaking. Not all beaches are suitable for swimming depending on the time of year, due to the seasonal winds. Do not ignore warning signs indicating that a beach is hazardous for swimming, no matter how it seems to you.
Vallee de Mai is a national park and world heritage site, home to amazing flora and fauna, including the world's largest seed: the coco de mer. Entrance fee: Free for residents, 315 rupees (~20Euros) for foreigners (Sept 2010).

The Cuyabeno Wild Life Reserve is probably the best place to see the Amazon Rainforest in Ecuador, even though there are other national parks which are also interesting (such as the Yasuni National Park). It's a place of high biodiversity and nature lovers should feel in paradise. That's a good way to discover the indigenous communities of Ecuador and to eventually meet a local shaman. It's necessary to get to Lago Agrio to reach the reserve. Private transportation is made possible by the local accommodation, which is provided by eco-lodges.
The beaches in Ecuador are amazing, including: Salinas, Bahia de Caraquez, Manta, Crucita, San Jacinto, and San Clemente. They offer very inexpensive hotel accommodations, great food and friendly people. But there are also very upmarket establishments as well.
