Michael J. Behe (/ˈbiːhiː/ BEE-hee; born January 18, 1952) is an American biochemist, author, and intelligent design (ID) advocate. He serves as professor of biochemistry at Lehigh University in Pennsylvania and as a senior fellow of the Discovery Institute's Center for Science and Culture. Behe is best known for his argument for irreducible complexity (IC), which argues that some biochemical structures are too complex to be explained by known evolutionary mechanisms and are therefore probably the result of intelligent design. Behe has testified in several court cases related to intelligent design, including the court case Kitzmiller v. Dover Area School District that resulted in a ruling that intelligent design was religious in nature.
Behe's claims about the irreducible complexity of essential cellular structures have been rejected by the vast majority of the scientific community, and his own biology department at Lehigh University published an official statement opposing Behe's views and intelligent design.
On November 15th, 2012, Dr. Michael Behe gave a presentation at the University of Toronto to a stand only crowd. "How much of life does Darwin's theory explain? Most scientists believe it accounts for everything from the machinery of the cell to the history of life on earth. Darwin's proposed mechanism -- random mutation and natural selection -- has been accepted largely as a matter of faith and deduction or, at best, circumstantial evidence. Only now, thanks to genetics, does science allow us to seek direct evidence. The genomes of many organisms have been sequenced, and the machinery of the cell has been analyzed in great detail. The evolutionary responses of microorganisms to antibiotics and humans to parasitic infections have been traced over tens of thousands of generations. As a...

"Revolutionary," tells the story of biochemist Michael Behe and how he took on the Darwinian establishment. "Revolutionary" premieres August 12 in Seattle at EE Bach Theater.
http://evolutionvcreation.blogspot.co.uk/ Michael Behe, a renowned scientist and author of the book, Darwin's Black Box: The Biochemical Challenge To Evolution, says that a study of molecular machines disproves the theory of evolution as it shows some design.
April 19, 2009 - In the first half of 'The Creation Conversation', Dr. Stephen Meyer offers an introduction to the evening's presentation and defines Intelligent Design. He is followed by Dr. Michael Behe, who, among other things, discusses the issue of irreducible complexity. Part 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1mF7w_zF2DU
On this episode of ID the Future, Dr. Michael Behe talks with Casey Luskin about recent findings that support his argument in The Edge of Evolution. Dr. Behe explains why Chloroquine, a drug that treats malaria, presents a good opportunity to study the limits of random mutation and natural selection, and how his conclusions inspired so much backlash--including misrepresentation of his argument--from his critics. Michael Behe gets schooled on irreducible complexity
Dr. Michael Behe (biochemist), Dr. Dean Kenyon (biologist), Dr. Paul Nelson (philosopher of biology), Dr. Stephen C. Meyer (historian and philosopher of science), Dr. William Dembski (mathematician and philosopher), Dr. Jonathan Wells (cell biologist and theologian), Dr. Scott Minnich (microbiologist)
Using examples of bacterial motors, cilia, vision, cellular transport, and more, Dr. Michael Behe explains why Darwinian gradualism fails to explain the origin of molecular machines. Through the incorporation of computer animations, this video brings Dr. Behe's book, Darwin's Black Box, to life. (http://www.arn.org/arnproducts/php/video_show_item.php?id=6)

Michael Behe is professor of biochemistry at Lehigh University, Pennsylvania and the founder of the modern Intelligent Design movement. His book "Darwin's Black Box" ignited the controversy 14 years ago when it claimed that certain molecular machines and biological processes are "irreducibly complex" and cannot be explained by Darwinian evolution. His new book "The Edge of Evolution" takes his conclusions further, arguing that the Darwinian processes of random mutation and natural selection are incapable of producing the variation and complexity we see in most of life. So can we conclude that life was intelligently designed by a creator? Keith Fox is Professor of biochemistry at the University of Southampton and chairman of Christians in Science. As a theistic evolutionist he be...
