Zafar Khan may refer to:
Brigadier General Mohammed Zafar Khan (Pashto: ال محمد ظفر خان) (born 1953) is a commander of the Afghan National Army stationed in Uruzgan, Afghanistan. He was appointed for the post of commander of the 4th Brigade, 205th Corps on 11 September 2010.
Zafar Khan is the son of Lt. Haji Shah Alam, an ethnic Pashtun, and was born in 1953 in Yahyakhel District of Paktika Province. His father moved him to Kabul and admitted him to Harbi Shownzai to train him to be an army officer. He passed out from Harbi Shownzai and began studies at Harbi Puhantun. He achieved a scholarship to attend a Soviet military academy in Moscow and completed his further studies for 6–7 years. On his return from Moscow he enrolled himself in paratroop course of Afghanistan and then commando course of Maslak-e-Commando.
On the completion of his military career, Zafar Khan was offered the post of commander of a company-sized unit (toli) in Harbi Puhantun in 1976, and his other posts followed later. He also was a member of the Khalq faction of the People's Democratic Party of Afghanistan.

Plot: When the Iranian National Soccer team comes to America to play the U.S. team, BABAK is their captain. He is the young, handsome face of the team with the quick moves of a lightweight boxer. Simply stated, he is the star. Babak's older brother MOURAD (once a fine player in his own right - but never having the talent of Babak) is attached to the team as they tour the States - perhaps only to handle his brother. The two are very close, but differ ideologically in that Mourad is much more fundamental. The story begins with the Iranian team playing the U.S. squad in Los Angeles. We learn that Babak had been approached months earlier in Iran about possibly staying in the U.S. to play for the local professional team. Babak receives a one million dollar signing bonus to join the Los Angeles Vipers pro team just prior to the end of their regular season and help their chances in the playoffs. Mourad is incensed by his brother's decision and attempts to explain that Babak is compromising his life on many levels - patriotically, religiously, and most importantly, the abandonment of family. Babak can never go home. Babak meets SORAYA, a beautiful, charming Iranian/American who's an up and coming reporter for a national Cable Sports Channel and the sister of the Vipers owner. The two young people have an immediate attraction. Her brother, DR. SHAFAIAN, is a very powerful figure in the local Iranian community. Although he professes to be a friend to Babak, until the end we are unaware of where Dr. Shafaian's loyalties lie. The pressures of a new country, a new soccer team, his brother's cynicism, and the involvement with Soraya all come to a head as the Vipers play the Dallas Panthers for the Championship. Adding to the anxiety is a blackmail plot - threatening to imprison Mourad and the rest of his family should Babak stay, or perhaps be imprisoned himself should he try to return to Iran. This compelling immigrant's story is how one's life is impacted by the decisions of life, family, religion, and morality that face every person chasing the American Dream.

Zafar is arrested for various crimes and is imprisoned for 10 years, but when he is discharged, he sees that Salma is married to a good man named Aslam Khan. Zafar Khan, wants to convince Salma to marry him but Salma refuses. Zafar plots his revenge by flooding the region in which Salma lives in, killing her father, injuring Aslam and Salma, causing her to lose her memory. During this catastrophe, Salma is also separated from her young son, Iqbal. Zafar abducts Salma and tells the world she is his wife. He also adopts an infant from an orphanage in Kanpur, a boy named Sunny, for Salma to raise on the advice of a psychiatrist. Meanwhile, Iqbal is reunited with his uncle, who has lost his wife and son in the flood. The uncle will raise Iqbal as his own, as they have no more family. Years pass, and Iqbal and his uncle work as coolies. Iqbal has grown up to a be a dashing, confident young man, and is considered the leader of the local coolies. He organizes a labor strike, which brings the station to its knees. A young, budding reporter, named Sunny, is covering the story. While speaking to Sunny, Iqbal sees a picture of Sunny's mother who turns out to be Salma. Iqbal rushes to Salma's house to see her after all these years, but upon meeting her son, she has no recollection of him. Zafar is infuriated by Iqbal's trespass and has his guards severely beat him, while he takes Salma to the psychiatrist to administer electric shocks on her so that her memory never returns. Iqbal and Sunny become friends, and both find love, Iqbal with a Christian girl and Sunny with a childhood sweetheart. Things are looking up, but the coolies uncover a banking and housing scandal against them. After a series of run-ins with the corrupt parties, Iqbal finds himself in a fight to the death with Zafar. What will happen to Zafar? Will his true colours be expose or will he continue to punish Salma till her death?

Zafar Khan may refer to:
In the mall outside the organ store,
He plays the Lowry Genie
And if you'd fake a smile and ask for more,
He'd tell you that it's easy.
But don't be fooled by what you see,
Unless you know the truth
Cause you have seen this man on MTV
In a band called Wasted Youth.
Now, for Wasted Youth he sang the lead
Though all he did was shout
He used to bang his face down on the keys-every night
Until he passes out.
He always wished it could be louder,
Somehow wilder, somehow more.
Then he found the most outrageous sound
In the Lowry organ store
Now he's so far gone it scares me
And he used to be my friend....
Chorus:
Oh, but he's so far gone, he's so far gone
He's so gone that he's back again.
I don't understand, I don't wanna know,
He's so gone that he's back again
Now he only wears those rumpled suits
And the tackiest of ties
And those broken black framed glasses
Blur his 20/20 eyes
In the mall he plays the samba
It's the ultimate reductionist upsurge
But it's proof of relativity, I guess
And that outer space is curved.
Because he's so far gone it scares me,
And he used to be my friend....
Chorus:
Oh, but he's so far gone, he's so far gone,
He's so gone that he's back again.
I don't understand, I don't wanna know,
(spoken) I said, "hey talk to me, alright?"
