Action News anchorman Bill Bonds and celebrate his remarkable career.
The tribute showcases the amazing impact
Bill had on the people and the city of
Detroit.
Bill Bonds, a broadcasting legend who made his name at
WXYZ-TV Channel 7, died on Saturday,
December 13. The longtime anchorman passed away Saturday after suffering a heart attack. He was 82.
Bonds started at
WXYZ-TV in
1963 and worked at the station until
1968. He returned three years later in
1971, working until his retirement in
1995.
Bonds was one of the reasons WXYZ dominated the ratings throughout the 70s, 80s, 90s and up into the millennium.
