Milton Supman (January 8, 1926 – October 22, 2009), known professionally as Soupy Sales, was an American comedian, actor, radio/television personality, and jazz aficionado. He was best known for his local and network children's television show, Lunch with Soupy Sales; a series of comedy sketches frequently ending with Sales receiving a pie in the face, which became his trademark.
From 1968-75, he was a regular panelist on the syndicated revival of What's My Line? and appeared on several other TV game shows. During the 1980s, Sales hosted his own show on WNBC-AM in New York City.
Milton Supman was born in Franklinton, North Carolina, to Irving Supman and Sadie Berman. His father, a Jewish dry goods merchant, had emigrated from Hungary in 1894. Sales had three siblings: Marvin Supman (1916-1920) who died during childhood, doctor J. Leonard Supman (1918-1998), and attorney Jack Supman (1921-2014). His was the only Jewish family in the town; Sales joked that local Ku Klux Klan members bought the sheets used for their robes from his father's store.

Soupy Sales blooper isn't really a blooper. Although the normal straight on door shot made it to air, the shot of the stripper did not. The crew play a practicle joke on Soupy. I think given the circumstances he handled it pretty well!
Part 1
Legendary TV host Soupy Sales tells a nightclub audience about the New Years' Day 1965 ad-lib that got him kicked off the air for a week.

Found these on an old VHS tape at my folks house. Poor quality, but fun! Includes Soupy Sales being surprised by a naked woman, Johnny Carson, behind the scenes at a kids show, and some commercial outtakes.
We all need a pie in the face sometimes to bring us back to earth from our "pie in the sky" ambitions! Members of the rat pack get theirs in this funny skit!

A classic clip featuring Soupy selling Orange juice for .25 a glass to White Fang.
Soupy doing "The Mouse"!! At first I was gonna edit this post down to just the song, but I decided to leave the whole segment intact, since I found it interesting watching Soupy stall/ad-lib while someone was apparently cueing-up the record!! I'll always remember Soupy's line, "Be true to your teeth, or they'll be false to you"...

Soupy Sales "Lunch with Soupy Sales" Show (complete show). This is a rare episode of Soupy's lunch time show. White Fang, Black Tooth and the guy at the door are all here for the fun from his late 1950's show. Note: Video quality is poor, but it's still very watchable. Clyde Adler as White Fang, Black Tooth and the guy at door. Recorded in Detroit. Enjoy!

Rare 16mm kinescope of The Mike Douglas Show from November 1969 with co-host The Amazing Kristin, Soupy Sales, Peter Nero, Joe Harnell and the band, discussion with a doctor about low blood sugar
Interesting episode right here. I believe this is either the last episode, or very close to the last episode, that Harriet MacGibbon was featured in. The last two seasons of this show brought about some odd changes, and Mrs. Drysdale practically disappeared, and was rarely mentioned. Soupy Sales makes a guest appearance as her nephew. This is the original night of broadcast version, minus commercials. This has not been seen on TV in this fashion in literally decades. What you see on TV now has been edited down to around 22 minutes to make room for more commercials. No copyright infringement intended. Constantly Being Stalled (CBS) seems to be in no hurry to release these to DVD, so I'm helping by giving collectors something they've wanted to see for years. Once CBS does right by these ep...
Spoken: Boy me a' fie go leave that town here ya know Because it too hot.
Too hot, this town is too hot Now they're calling for their guns About to

will Come out and tell them, fight them.
(guitar solo)
The soldiers came back to you without them The police force are afraid they
can't even touch them They said you think
you're bad Why don't you come out yourself These boys are spoiling for a
fight Fighting tonight, they don't lie It's too hot.
