World's biggest 90s dance acts take stage in Perth

If you were anywhere near a dance floor in the 1990s, you would have busted a move to one of the chart toppers at Metro City on Friday night.

The flashback 90s Mania dance tour concert featured four of the biggest dance acts of the 90s, including Snap!, Corona, Culture Beat and C+C Music Factory.

Between them, the music acts are responsible for 10 world-wide number one hits including Gonna Make You Sweat (Everybody Dance Now), Mr Vain and Rhythm is a Dancer.

C+C Music Factory hit the stage first, the American dance-pop group opening with their 1992 hit Pride (A Deeper Love), followed by their 1990 smash Gonna Make You Sweat and 1994 track Do You Wanna Get Funky?

Culture Beat was next, with lead singer Tania Evans proving that, at 48 years of age, she could still get the crowd moving.

The singer danced, head-banged and shimmied her way through a collection of the group's hits including an acapella version of Mr Vain, which was performed twice during the set, and 1996 hit Got To Get It.

The crowd, mainly made up of people in their 30s, was entertained during the show's interlude by DJ Nick Skitz, MC James Spy on the saxophone and two go-go dancers.

Corona front woman Olga Maria De Souza broke away from tradition during a flawless cover of Dolly Parton's 1970s song I Will Always Love You, before declaring it was "back to the 90s" and performing flashback hits including 1994 track Baby Baby and the song that catapulted them to fame, Rhythm of the Night.

The crowd cheered as De Souza proudly told them "I am 51 years old".

Snap! wrapped up the three-hour show, opening with their 1992 song Rhythm is a Dancer mixed with 2013 chart topper Get Lucky, by Daft Punk.
