"Apple Shampoo" is a song by American rock band Blink-182, released on October 7, 1997 as the second single from the group's second studio album, Dude Ranch (1997). The song was released as a single in Australia only, through an exclusive license with Mushroom Records imprint label Rapido.
The song regards a failing relationship. The song was inspired by Elyse Rogers of the ska punk band Dance Hall Crashers, whom Blink toured with over 1996. The song's title was inspired by her favorite type of shampoo.
The song is composed in the key of C major and is set in time signature of common time with a fast tempo of 216 beats per minute. Hoppus's vocal range spans from G4 to A5.
"Apple Shampoo" was released as the band set out on the Australian leg of the Warped Tour 1997. The song was an Australian-only single release celebrating the tour and their fanbase in Australia, which had grown considerably since 1995. Despite this, the song largely failed to register on the charts.
Blink-182 (often stylized as blink-182) is an American rock band formed in Poway, a suburb of San Diego, California in 1992. The band currently consists of bassist and vocalist Mark Hoppus, drummer Travis Barker, and guitarist and vocalist Matt Skiba. Blink-182 is considered a key group in the development of pop punk; their combination of pop melodies with fast-paced punk rock featured a more radio-friendly accessibility than prior bands. Founded by Hoppus, guitarist and vocalist Tom DeLonge, and drummer Scott Raynor, the band emerged from the Southern California punk scene of the early 1990s and first gained notoriety for high-energy live shows and irreverent lyrical toilet humor.
The band was initially known as Blink until Irish band Blink threatened legal action; they appended "-182". Cheshire Cat (1995) led the band to tour with Pennywise and NOFX on the Warped Tour. Dude Ranch (1997) was co-distributed by major label MCA Records and featured their first rock radio hit, "Dammit (Growing Up)". Raynor was fired midway through a 1998 tour and replaced by Barker. Enema of the State (1999) was an enormous success on the strength of hit singles "What's My Age Again?", "Adam's Song" and "All the Small Things", which enjoyed massive airplay and became MTV staples. Take Off Your Pants and Jacket (2001) reached number one in the United States, Canada, and Germany. The eponymously titled Blink-182 followed in 2003 and marked a stylistic shift for the group, infusing experimental elements into their usual pop punk formula, resulting in a more mature sound. DeLonge left the group in 2005, sending the band into what was termed an "indefinite hiatus". The trio reunited in 2009, producing their sixth album, Neighborhoods (2011). In 2015, DeLonge again exited, and was replaced by Alkaline Trio guitarist and vocalist Matt Skiba.
The guest ranch, also known as a dude ranch, is a type of ranch oriented towards visitors or tourism. It is considered a form of agritourism.
Guest ranches arose in response to the romanticization of the American West that began to occur in the late 19th century. In 1893, historian Frederick Jackson Turner stated that the United States frontier was demographically "closed". This in turn led many people to have feelings of nostalgia for bygone days, but also, given that the risks of a true frontier were gone, allowed for nostalgia to be indulged in relative safety. Thus, the person referred to as a "tenderfoot" or a "greenhorn" by westerners was finally able to visit and enjoy the advantages of western life for a short period of time without needing to risk life and limb.
The Western adventures of famous figures, like Theodore Roosevelt, were made available to paying guests from cities of the East, called "dudes" in the West. In the early years, the transcontinental railroad network brought paying visitors to a local depot, where a wagon or buggy would be waiting to transport people to a ranch. Experiences varied. Some guest ranch visitors expected a somewhat edited and more luxurious version of the "cowboy life", while others were more tolerant of the odors and timetable of a working ranch. While there were guest ranches prior to the 20th century, the trend grew considerably after the end of World War I, when postwar prosperity, the invention of the automobile and the appearance of Western movies all increased popular interest in the west. In 1926 the Dude Ranchers Association was founded in Cody, Wyoming to represent the needs of this rapidly growing industry.
"And I" is a song written by American R&B singer Ciara, and produced by Adonis Shropshire for Ciara's first album, Goodies (2004). It was released as the album's fourth and final single on August 30, 2005 (see 2005 in music) in North America.
The song was originally the third choice for the fourth single. Ciara has mentioned in an interview that "Thug Style", "Hotline" or "Pick up the Phone" would be the fourth single, but when Ciara suggested "And I" to executives at her previous record label LaFace, they were unhappy because they wanted "Next to You" to be the fourth single.
At the time of the U.S. release of "And I", Ciara's collaboration with Bow Wow, "Like You", and her collaboration with Missy Elliott, "Lose Control", were at the height of their popularity. "And I" peaked at 96 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and 27 on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks chart, which were poor positions compared to those attained by the first three singles from the album Goodies. It was not released outside North America because of this, and it is Ciara's least successful single.

I've been wanting to hear this song live in so long and finally it happened for the self titled album show. They brought out the old stuff. Haven't seen a video but I'm sure there are better ones out there than this one. Enjoy from my POV.

This is an acoustic cover of blink-182's song "Apple Shampoo" from their 1997 LP Dude Ranch. Just got a new acoustic guitar and wanted to test how it sounded. Wasn't too happy with how the full cover of this song turned out so I gave it another try. The good intentions that you had, Now only came to this, And although she saw the mark, The arrow missed. It isn't exciting reciting the stories, Of kind words turned hurting, When routine gets boring. Both getting tired of punk rock clubs, And both playing in punk rock bands. The start was something good, But some good things must end. And she said it could...

She didn't mean to deceive you, believe me
But sometimes the hardest part is conceiving
The good intentions that you had
Now only came to this
And although she saw the mark
The arrow missed
It isn't exciting reciting the stories
Of kind words turned hurting when routine get boring
Both getting tired of punk rock clubs
And both playing in punk rock bands
The start was something good
But some good things must end
And she said, "It could never survive
With such differing lives
One home, one out on tour again
We may never come back
The strike of a match
The candle's burning at both ends."
And now she knows too much
And I'm too fucked up
It's awkward trying to make my move
I'll pretend that I'm fine
Show up right on time
But I know I'll never be that cool
I never wanted to hold you back
I just wanted to hold on
But my chance is gone
I know
just where
I stand
a boy
Trapped in the body of a man and
I'll take what you're willing to give
And I'll teach myself to live
With a walk-on part of a background shot
From a movie I'm not in
She's so important
And I'm so retarded
And now I realize
I should have kissed you in L.A.
But I drove home all alone
As if I had a choice, anyway
Where are you coming from?
What are you running from?
Is it so hard to see?
And if you're feeling scared
Remember the time we shared
You know it meant everything (everything)
You know that it meant everything to me
