새로운 면모를 과시하는 앨범’ “Break Up 2 Make Up” ‘믿고 듣는 아티스트’ 지코가 돌아왔다. 그런데 정말 새롭게도 발라드와, URBAN R&B; 어반알앤비이다.
지코의 이번 스페셜 싱글 앨범은 ‘너는 나 나는 너’와 루나와 함께 한 ‘사랑이었다’ 더블 타이틀의 구성으로 담았다. 주목해야 할 건 앞서 언급했듯 그가 새로운 시도를 했다는 점이다. 남녀 사이의 감정선에만 기반을 둔 감성적인 곡으로 이루어진 앨범이라는 점에서 지코가 특정 장르에 국한되지 않는 아티스트라는 것을 확실히 알려준다고 볼 수 있다.
지코는 분명 강렬한 이미지를 내뿜는 그룹 ‘블락비’의 리더다. 또 ‘Boys And Girls’와 ‘유레카’를 통해 트렌디한 힙합에 일가견이 있다는 사실을 입증했다. 게다가 ‘쇼미더머니4’에 프로듀서로서 참여한 만큼 힙합에 대한 감이 뛰어난 아티스트다. 그런 그가 갑작스레 발라드를 내밀었다. 결과부터 말하면 보컬리스트로서도 그는 충분히 매력적이다.
첫 번째 트랙 ‘너는 나 나는 너’는 프로듀서 PEEJAY와 협업하여 탄생한 곡이다. 뜨거운 힙합 곡을 선보이던 그가 어쿠스틱한 감성을 손에 쥐었다. 몽환적인 바이브의 레이백비트와 지코의 보컬이 주를 이루고 사랑에 빠지면 서로 닮아간다는 내용을 담은 곡이다.
이 곡은 지코가 온전히 자신의 목소리를 들려줬다는 점에서 주목해야 한다. 그간 지코는 역시 강렬한 이미지가 강했다. 트렌디함과 최신 스타일을 선도하는 아이콘으로서 역할이 강했는데, ‘너는 나 나는 너’를 듣고 나면 랩과 보컬이 다 가능한 싱어송라이터라는 점이 크게 다가온다.

This is a patient that many of you have seen before. She the star of one of my popular videos, and I'm wondering if any of you can guess what other video she has been seen in? There are clues in the video, so let's see who can guess correctly first! I haven't seen her for awhile and so this is a new issue that she presents to me with. Apparently, she has a cyst on her left chest that she has had for a while but recently, it has become irritated. I haven't seen her for awhile and so this is a new issue that she presents to me with. Apparently, she has a cyst on her left chest that she has had for a while but recently, it has become irritated. You can see that over the course of a couple days it got progressively more inflamed and red and painful. She has an inflamed cyst. Many people may call it an abscess, or an "infected" cyst.
I put “infected” in quotes, because technically this is not an infection: When an epidermoid cyst ruptures, it creates a vigorous foreign body inflammatory response - this skin becomes warm, tender, painful, and swells, simulating an abscess. Incision and Drainage (I & D), will confirm the diagnosis of inflamed cyst, when the cheesy material is evacuated, and this often leads to rapid resolution of symptoms. Here you can see that the internal contents of the cyst have broken down and liquefied, and it's impossible to define the wall of the cyst. These episodes are often misdiagnosed as “infection” of the cyst, but cultures are usually negative and antibiotic treatments is not required. I did a bacterial culture of this cyst and it proved to be "sterile", that is, there was no bacterial growth in the culture.
All this being said, we often prescribe antibiotics- it’s hard not to when you see something so red and inflamed and painful.. it seems almost cruel not to! Also, we as dermatologists, will just call the cyst infected, or call it an abscess. It’s more difficult to explain to patients why we would not call an area that looks angry and red and is painful non-infected. However, I felt I needed to clarify all of this in detail here, for medical education purposes!
She felt much better as soon as we drained the cyst, and I will get photos over time as the area improves so you can see what it looks like.

This is a patient that many of you have seen before. She the star of one of my popular videos, and I'm wondering if any of you can guess what other video she has been seen in? There are clues in the video, so let's see who can guess correctly first!
