Once upon a time, there were once many mermaids that ruled the waters of the Earth. And the humans only ruled the vast spaces of land. Then, the humans got greedy and desired the whole world to themselves. And they were willing to do anything to get their wish. So, they poisoned all of the water so that the mermaid would be forced to leave. Little did they know that one was sadly left behind. Will she ever make any friends again? Or will the rest of her life remain a bore?

A mermaid is a mythological aquatic creature with a female human head, arms, and torso and the tail of a fish. Mermaids are represented in the folklore, literature and popular culture of many countries worldwide.
A male version of a mermaid is known as a "merman" and in general both males and females are known as "merfolk" or "merpeople". A "merboy" is a young merman.
"Mermaid" is a compound of mere, the Old English word for "sea", and maid, a girl or young woman. The equivalent term in Old English was merewif.
In modern times, the mermaid is used as an official animal/mascot of many mythical stories involving pirates and the sea. It is also associated with "sea cows" that are called manatees. Sailors may have seen the animals and categorize them as mythical mermaids.
Traditionally, mermaids have been depicted unclothed. When censorship is an issue, most prominently in movies, effort is made to have the mermaids’ long hair cover their breasts. In areas with strong censorship, notably in some U.S. family movies, mermaids have been wearing different variants of tops or swimsuits or with shells.

Mermaid Kiss is an English band formed in Kington, Herefordshire in 2000, with influences ranging from contemporary folk music to progressive rock.
The initial line up was: Evelyn Downing (voice, harmonies, flute, and loops) Jamie Field (guitar and bass) and Andrew Garman (keyboard, bass and drums). In the beginning the band was envisaged purely as a studio project, and in June 2003 they released a 14 track debut album, The Mermaid Kiss Album, and following many requests they made their live debut on 21 December 2003, at The Rock Cafe 2000, Stourbridge supporting Karnataka.
In September 2004, Downing left Kington to further her studies at University in Manchester, and a second vocalist, Kate Belcher (also from Kington) was recruited. The band's second release in February 2006, a 7 track EP entitled Salt On Skin, contained songs featuring vocals by both Downing and Belcher, together with guest singer, Kate Emerson. The artwork and photography for the CD was by Chris Walkden. One of the songs on the EP, "The Blushing Bride", featured guitar work of Panic Room (and former Karnataka) guitarist, Paul Davies.

Hey guys, Bill here… Remember not too long ago, I made that video about the mermaid rescue. That’s the one where I met Mermaid Melissa, probably one of the most famous Mermaid Models in the world.
Now if you recall, Mermaid Melissa invited me to go swimming with her in Florida…. and I wasn’t sure. But thanks to you guys and all you comments, I’ve come to believe it’s probably a pretty good idea.. especially right now….
It wasn’t easy to find her, but thanks to my drone, I was able to catch her on camera at a place called The Crystal River National Wildlife Refuge. It’s a pretty fantastic place on the west coast of Florida -- where Mermaid Melissa Spends a lot of her time.
Our swim began at a place called 3 Sisters Spring… It’s a fresh water spring that Mermaid Melissa really enjoys…
As it turns out, this place is also the wintering home of lots of Manatees. When the water gets too cold outside the refuge, they come here for the warmer waters…
Manatees are not dangerous - In fact they are quite gentle. The proper way to hang out with them is to not chase them, but rather let them come to you…- as Mermaid Malissa showed me.
Melissa: To visit with manatees you never know what you are going to get - you never know if they are going to want to play with you…
BILL: I’m sure that is true, but as soon as this manatee saw mermaid melissa’s tail, love was in the air and the water…
MELISSA; The manatee was like, what is that? And when they come over, they use their mouth to explore… What are these hands? Are these hands different from the last diver and Bill’s fins, what are they all about? They definitely like to fell and chew and touch things…
BILL: Manatees can grow up to 4 Meters or about 13 feet long, and can weigh as much as 590 kilograms which is roughly 1300 lbs.”
They are thought to have evolved from four-legged land mammals over 60 million years ago. Their closest living relatives are actually elephants!
