Achinoam Nini, better known in the world named - NOA, the most successful Israeli- international artist of all times. The artists that influenced Noa mostly were singers and song writers of the 60s, such as Paul Simon, Joni Mitchell and Leonard Cohen. Over the past fifteen years of joint career with Gil Dor, they wrote and produced successful albums, including international albums: 'Noa' - produced by Pat Metheny, 'Calling' - produced by Rupert Hine for Blue Touches Blue, 'Now' produced by Gil Dor and Yoad Nevo for Universal Studio, Noa has sold over two million copies of her vast albums repertoire worldwide. Among her worldwide performances she appeared in Carnegie Hall and Avery Fisher Hall in New - York, Olympia in Paris, Rome's coliseum, the Barbican in London and many others.
In addition, she participated in various important events and festivals across Europe, USA, Canada, Brazil and Japan. Noa was the first Israeli artist formally invited to appear in Morocco. Her performance in the religious music festival in Fez led to a fifteen minutes performance in the popular CNN's music program - World Beat. In 1994 she performed her version of 'Ave Maria' to an audience of 100,000 people and millions of TV viewers, as part of the "Year of the family" highlight event at the Vatican in the presence of Pope John Paul II. She appeared in the 2000 jubilee celebrations in front of the Pope and an audience of 500,000 students together with Alanis Morissette, Lou Reed, Gerard depardieu, Dave Stewart and Andrea Bocelli. These performances brought Noa's participation in two annual Christmas performances of the Vatican, on the same platform with artists such as Celine Dion, De cor's, Lionel Richie and Dee Dee Bridgewater. When Pope John Paul II had passed away, Noa was invited to Rome to sing in his memory in the main program show of Italian television. Emotional empowerment, imbedded in Noa's musical world, combined with Noa's Yemenite roots and Gil Dor's strong background in jazz, classical music and rock, have created the special sound of the new album - Genes & Jeans. All of these inspired me to create a unique video clip coming to introduce Noa's new project that was born out of a desire to explore and revive Yemenite songs she had heard from her grandmother as a child. While listening to the Yemenite singers, like Aharon Amram, Shlomo Dechyani, Shoshana Damari, Zion Golan, Miriam Tzapari, Avner Gadassi and Ofra Chaza, in amazement and humility, to their wonderful voices and the beautiful melodies, her heart was playing the greatest voice of graceful Grandma Rachel, who raised her through childhood in New - York. From this place of traditional songs that had been replaced by Paul Simon and Joni Mitchell, that she set out on a journey in to the roots of her singing and soul. The video clip's concept was - Zafa -- a Yemenite procession, and in fact introduced combinations and memories along Noa's personal journey through her career, from the connection in the "Ayelet Chen" song to visuals from her Grandma's home, styled in oriental elements, alongside a U.S. journey, accompanied by meaningful words that escort her way as memoirs, till the wedding and the Yemenite Henna, portraying the storm of emotions and the connection between the world of the modern woman and the ancient world.

Ahinoam (Hebrew: אחינועם) is a Hebrew name literally meaning brother of pleasantness, thus meaning pleasant.
There are two references in the Bible to people who bear that name:
Some scholars suggest that the two may be, in fact, one person. In 2 Samuel 12:8, God tells David through the prophet Nathan, "I gave your master's house to you, and your master's wives into your arms." Jon Levenson suggests that this implies David took Ahinoam from Saul. Levenson goes on to note that Ahinoam is always mentioned before Abigail and that she bears David a son before Abigail does, and concludes from this that "she was already married to David when the conflict with Nabal erupted." However, with Jonathan about the same age as, if not older than, David, Ahinoam, the wife of Saul, would be too old to give birth to David's first-born son, Amnon. Another objection is that the marriage of Ahinoam and David occurred during The Civil War between the house of David and the house of Saul.
The term "your master's wives" would actually imply that David inherited Saul's harems, as was common among the kings of ancient time.

Where is your trust in His protection? You boast that He can move mountains, and yet He cannot move one man among you to defend His honor. Six times have we challenged you to put forward a champion, and six times have you cowered in silence. Send down a champion, and whoever wins the combat wins the day for his country and his God. Achinoam Nini, better known in the world named - NOA, the most successful Israeli- international artist of all times. The artists that influenced Noa mostly were singers and song writers of the 60s, such as Paul Simon, Joni Mitchell and Leonard Cohen. Over the past fifteen years of joint career with Gil Dor, they wrote and produced successful albums, including international albums: 'Noa' - produced by Pat Metheny, 'Calling' - produced by Rupert Hine for Blue Touches Blue, 'Now' produced by Gil Dor and Yoad Nevo for Universal Studio, Noa has sold over two million copies of her vast albums repertoire worldwide. Among her worldwide performances she appeared in Carnegie Hall and Avery Fisher Hall in New - York, Olympia in Paris, Rome's coliseum, the Barbican in London and many others.
In addition, she participated in various important events and festivals across Europe, USA, Canada, Brazil and Japan. Noa was the first Israeli artist formally invited to appear in Morocco. Her performance in the religious music festival in Fez led to a fifteen minutes performance in the popular CNN's music program - World Beat. In 1994 she performed her version of 'Ave Maria' to an audience of 100,000 people and millions of TV viewers, as part of the "Year of the family" highlight event at the Vatican in the presence of Pope John Paul II. She appeared in the 2000 jubilee celebrations in front of the Pope and an audience of 500,000 students together with Alanis Morissette, Lou Reed, Gerard depardieu, Dave Stewart and Andrea Bocelli. These performances brought Noa's participation in two annual Christmas performances of the Vatican, on the same platform with artists such as Celine Dion, De cor's, Lionel Richie and Dee Dee Bridgewater. When Pope John Paul II had passed away, Noa was invited to Rome to sing in his memory in the main program show of Italian television. Emotional empowerment, imbedded in Noa's musical world, combined with Noa's Yemenite roots and Gil Dor's strong background in jazz, classical music and rock, have created the special sound of the new album - Genes & Jeans. All of these inspired me to create a unique video clip coming to introduce Noa's new project that was born out of a desire to explore and revive Yemenite songs she had heard from her grandmother as a child. While listening to the Yemenite singers, like Aharon Amram, Shlomo Dechyani, Shoshana Damari, Zion Golan, Miriam Tzapari, Avner Gadassi and Ofra Chaza, in amazement and humility, to their wonderful voices and the beautiful melodies, her heart was playing the greatest voice of graceful Grandma Rachel, who raised her through childhood in New - York. From this place of traditional songs that had been replaced by Paul Simon and Joni Mitchell, that she set out on a journey in to the roots of her singing and soul. The video clip's concept was - Zafa -- a Yemenite procession, and in fact introduced combinations and memories along Noa's personal journey through her career, from the connection in the "Ayelet Chen" song to visuals from her Grandma's home, styled in oriental elements, alongside a U.S. journey, accompanied by meaningful words that escort her way as memoirs, till the wedding and the Yemenite Henna, portraying the storm of emotions and the connection between the world of the modern woman and the ancient world.

Celebrating its 50th anniversary the Israel Festival has chosen to focus on Israeli work alongside international productions this year as it celebrates its jubilee with 50 performances and artists from over 20 different countries. From May 24 to June 17th,classical ballet and modern dance, theater, jazz, opera and classical music performances will take place. Israeli singers such as Ahinoam Nini, the Batsheva Dance Company and the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra are among the local performers appearing in this year's festival. Early this morning we had the honor to speak with BAFTA nominee, British Independent Film and International Emmy Award winner Ray Winstone who plays King Saul and Olly Rix who plays David in ABC's upcoming Biblical epic series “Of Kings and Prophets” on the phone to their studio in London England.

About “Of Kings and Prophets”
“Of Kings and Prophets” is an epic biblical saga of faith, ambition and betrayal as told through the eyes of the battle-weary King Saul, the resentful prophet Samuel and the resourceful young shepherd David — all on a collision course with destiny that will change the world.
One thousand years before Christ, the first King of the Israelites, Saul, struggles to unify the Twelve Tribes of Israel and defend his fledgling nation against savage enemy attacks. The quick-to-anger Saul is a fierce warrior and as adept with a sword as he is with political negotiations. The House of Saul is comprised of his loyal wife, Ahinoam, the Queen of Israel, their two sons, Jonathan and Ishbaal and two daughters, Merav and Michal. In time, Saul comes to realize that his greatest threat will not come from his enemies, but from a simple shepherd.

When he’s unexpectedly anointed as the next King of Israel, he doesn’t know if kingship is a mantle he is ready to wear.
The mysterious and enigmatic Samuel is the Prophet of Israel. When he hears the voice of God, he interprets His signs and relays it to the people. Samuel anointed Saul as King many years ago and Saul has always been grateful and abided by Samuel’s word. However, King Saul’s faithfulness will soon be tested, and the outcome will forever change the destiny of Israel.

Op 8 maart (2016) zal de serie Of Kings and Prophets op ABC te zien zijn. Het is een historisch drama dat gebaseerd is op het boek 1 Samuël uit de Bijbel. De koning in dit verhaal is Saul en de profeet is Samuël. Saul luistert echter niet naar wat de profeet namens God te zeggen heeft en daarom moet Samuël op zoek naar een nieuwe koning: David, een herdersjongen uit Bethlehem. Door zijn optreden tegen de reusachtige generaal Goliath van de Filistijnse koning Achish komt hij aan het hof van Saul.
De makers geven aan de lijn van het Bijbelverhaal te volgen. Hierbij alvast wat achtergrond informatie over de profeet Samuël en zijn afkomst. Iets wat de serie mogelijk niet opneemt.

TIMEMUN had two very unique committees this year, the first being Special Committee. Special Committee focuses on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and is singular to this conference because of the conferences location. Additionally, TIMEMUN had the Crisis Committee, which was central to this years crisis. We also had the pleasure of having Ahinoam Nini, international superstar, and peace advocate for the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, perform at this years conference.

One may see a Godly woman whose husband is anything except Godly. Or the same case with the opposite gender. And apparently this has been the story for all time ...
