Carter Conlon (born 1953) is a Canadian-born American pastor and author. He is best known as senior pastor of Times Square Church in New York City.
Conlon was born and raised in Noranda, Quebec. He graduated from Carleton University in Ottawa, Ontario where he received a bachelor's degree in law and sociology. In 1987, he left his 12-year career as a police officer to enter full-time ministry. He founded a church, a Christian school, and a food bank in Riceville, Canada. He owned and operated a sheep farm as well. During those years, he also traveled throughout the country—speaking at various churches from Prince Edward Island to Alberta, to the Inuit people in the Arctic.
In 1994, he joined the pastoral staff of Times Square Church at the invitation of founding pastor, David Wilkerson. He was appointed to the office of senior pastor in 2001.
Sensing an urgent need for God’s people to pray, in 2007 he initiated an afternoon of "Prayer in the Square" where, by the third consecutive year, an estimated 60,000 people gathered to pray in the middle of Times Square.
Carter is a surname which originally meant a person who hauls goods in a cart. It comes from the Gaelic and Celtic word cairt (cart). Being of Gaelic and Celtic origins the name originated in Ireland and Scotland and later migrated to England where it was reduced to its English pronunciation and form. However, this name stems from a few common surnames, the names being McCarthy, McArthur and McCarter.
People with this surname may trace their ancestors back to Ireland, many of these name holders ancestors escaped Ireland during the Irish diaspora heading to Great Britain, the American colonies typically the colonies of New York, Massachusetts, Georgia and Virginia. Other immigrants entered the United States later during the Great Famine of Ireland in the 1840s and later. The Irish counties with the highest amount of families having this surname are Laois, Galway, Meath and Leitrim; Laois seems to be the place where most Carters settled or where the name began in origin. Within the past 150 to 200 years, the Carter surname has been adopted widely by the African American community, either with ethnic black and Irish mixing or taken from slavemasters by former slaves. This name is common among African Americans capable of tracing their roots back to the southern United States from the early 20th century onward.

Times Square Church is an inter-denominational church located at 237 West 51st Street in the Theater District of Manhattan, New York City. A large number of people representing many nationalities gather to worship together every week. Volunteers from the congregation participate in over forty ministries, ranging from feeding the homeless in New York City to staffing an orphanage in South Africa. A major emphasis at Times Square Church is giving aid to the disadvantaged.
The Times Square Church was founded by Pastor David Wilkerson in 1987. At the time, the area was known as a center of X-rated films, strip clubs, prostitution, and drug addiction. Pastor Wilkerson opened the church in response to what he described as "the physically destitute and spiritually dead people" he saw among the pimps, runaways and crack dealers who populated the area. The Times Square Church briefly held its services in The Town Hall on 43rd Street in Manhattan and then in the Nederlander Theatre on 41st Street. In 1989 the church moved to the former Mark Hellinger Theatre, its current location on 51st Street.

We have lost sight of our condition and our calling. It’s imperative to rediscover our identity in Christ and what God ‘s purpose is for us in the earth. If you open the door of your heart God will open the scriptures to you, give you understanding and bring you into a place of power. Let your cry be, “Lord anoint my eyes, show me Your purpose for my life and give me a heart to do the work of an evangelist.”

November 6, 2016 - Carter Conlon - Times Square Church The Compromised Religion In A Corrupted Time http://www.tscnyc.org/ Do you have a deep desire to be a clean vessel for God? Are you willing to put away evil practices, ungodly relationships, and unclean speech? If we regard iniquity in our heart and give place to wrong behavior God will not hear our prayers, but if we order our conduct God will command a blessing and cause us to bring glory to His name. True prayer will bring honor to Jesus Christ again. We are desperate for a spiritual awakening and it’s the only thing that will save this nation. We must find our unity at the Cross and trust God for the power to look and sound more like Jesus.
January 22, 2017 - Carter Conlon - Times Square Church Escaping The Yoke Of The Swindler http://www.tscnyc.org/ How much do you esteem God’s purpose for your life? When the American Church abdicated their purpose; when we lost the fervency to preach the Gospel and the passion to save the lost, we opened the door for deception and imposters. In our slumber, swindlers crept into the church and they grabbed pulpits by deceit which were not rightfully theirs. There is something that is coming to this society that is God induced and Spirit inspired. If you are restless and tired of pretending your living in victory, don’t be ashamed to lift up your voice and call out to God, He will break the yoke of bondage off your neck, bless you and make you a blessing.
This is the powerful testimony of Pastor Carter Conlon. He is the Pastor of Times Square Church in New York City. This was recorded in 2010 in Dublin, Ireland at The Annual Full Gospel Business Men's Fellowship Conference
http://www.TSCexposed.com Why have I taken it upon me now to seek to publicly expose such a figure as Carter Conlon and such a church as Times Square Church? This is most certainly a reasonable question, for both the man and the church stand head and shoulders taller than every man in Israel. Nevertheless, necessity is laid upon me at the present time to open a case against this pastor and his church; necessity, I say, for I believe it to be far from my own heart's desire, but rather, the burden which has been weighing heavy now for years in the heart of a holy and a jealous God. You may imagine that it is some personal vendetta that motivates me in my enterprise, but I will protest to you that your imaginations are vain. You may say that it is the wind of vain-glory that now fills my s...

February 7, 2016 - Carter Conlon - Times Square Church Be Still, And Know That I Am God http://www.tscnyc.org/ February 7, 2016 - What does it mean to be still? It means to admit defeat and to come to the end of ourselves so that we can cease from the striving and struggling to be Godly in our own strength. Today, God is inviting us to let go of those things that seem to be Godly, but has its fuel source in human effort and to come to Him so He can be God to you. The deepest work of God is the quiet work that’s goes on in the inward work of our heart.
Website: http://www.sermonindex.net | Twitter: http://goo.gl/f9i0R The work and ministry of sermonindex can be encapsulated in this one word: REVIVAL. sermonindex is not a organisation, business, or any attempt by man to build something for God. It is rather a expression of a heart burden to see the Church revived and brought back to holiness, purity, and power with God. "The mission of SermonIndex is the preservation and propogation of classical vintage preaching and the promotion of genuine biblical revival to this generation."
A message preached the Sunday after 9-11-01.The video is & has been on Youtube for years now. As we observe the "Signs Of the times" it is of major importance that We~as the Body Of Christ take this to heart... implement it in your life & churches as well. Time is of the essence!!!!!!!!
Tim Conlon drops in for more tech talk this week! Good Day is Albany, Ga's only 3 hour morning show and can be found only on Fox 31 WFXL and at http://www.mysouthwestga.com.
On March 6, 2016, Pastor Carter gave his usual sound, powerful sermon @ the wonderful Times Square Church, located in the heart of wicked NYC. However, he broached territory other pastors don't tread, as he talked about African slavery and the U.S. Civil War. He put it together so eloquently, so informatively, that it is more of a must watch/listen than usual. I implore you brethren and sistren of all colours to embrace this sermon and to NOT FORGET what the origins of Blacks in america are. The media wants to show you blacks killing, robbing, entertaining and dancing, while distancing themselves from the horrific origins that Blacks endured being brought here as property, with NO RIGHTS as human beings. He even spoke about the amputations and beatings Blacks endured as they tried to ...
